Nintud said:Another £3 made on a Vinted sale. £13.60 for today day. Very now stands at £120 and I have £23.60 pending in my Vinted balance. Child benefit is four hours away, and pay day is 28 hours away. I will clear Very on Wednesday 😁
Next target is the Nationwide CC. Aim is to pay that off in 9 weeks at £55 per week, which should cover any interest added. I’m stupidly excited at paying off my first debt 😆😆
Ive got my DFW cheerleaders to thank for keeping me on track.Nov/Dec 24 £39 564

Well done. So close to that first one being cleared.
The others will quickly start to follow.1 -
Amazing news. Kept it up.
At our highest we had £28k worth of debt and rented a house. 15 years on we are debt free and have bought and sold a couple of properties, our last move left us mortgage free. We’ve done this whilst raising kids and on one wage as DH is disabled. It’s not been easy but each small win needs to be celebrated in a sustainable way, each debt cleared was celebrated with a chip butty and a glass of fizzy wine. Now there’s savings and sinking pots and calm. We still use credit cards for the 0% on big purchases but only when we know the money in savings will cover it. I’m still absolutely sh*t hot at clearing a card and naff at saving.3 -

Im taking this a day at a time. I have another 2.5 years of penny pinching, frugality, and selling my worldly goods. Each day brings an extra slither of peace. The debt figures are falling. I’m getting more space in my flat. It feels like I have a long road ahead, 30 months in total, but I’ve already done 3 months and I just need to do that another 10 times over.
i try to imagine how I will feel in 3 month’s time, with Very and the Nationwide cc gone. My Santander CC should be down from £2900 to £2500, and my total debt should be around £34k.MBNA 237.47/13997.47

£7 Vinted sale. Interest in some other items too.
Ive just changed my bedding, and now I’m counting down the hours until bedtime. It’s going to be difficult not to take a nap.
NEET and phantom lodger are sorting through two bags of odd socks and tidying their clothes in the drawers and wardrobe. I have a load in the washing machine, another in the dryer, and one more to do. After that, I’ll be as caught up with the laundry as I ever am. I’m taking a 15 minute break then unloading and reloading the dishwasher. There is something very satisfying about running all 3 machines at the same time.
Dinner is in the slow cooker. A random mix of the remains of my cupboards and freezer. I’ve made a curry with condensed chicken soup, paneer, spinach, peas and sweetcorn and a handful of frozen mixed berries. It could be revolting, or revolutionary! Tomorrow’s dinner is chilli with Brussels sprouts 😆
The boys are complaining of lethal hunger, so I willl make us all beans and sausages (with an extra tin of beans!) on toast for brunch, while I unload and reload the dishwasher.
I’m at a loss for lunch tomorrow. I might have to mix home made tomato soup with a tin of cream of tomato soup and throw in some fusilli. Then it’s a cupboard and freezer clean ready for my big monthly shop arriving on Thursday morning. I’m pretty sure we’re all hankering after some proper meals!MBNA 237.47/13997.47

Sometimes the meals where you just chuck in whatever you have left are the best one
Trying to replicate them again is the problem!!0 -
Have a look at Olio if you’re not already a member, local food “hero’s” collect the short dated stuff from the supermarkets and list it via the app for free collection. I find our local ones list around d 8/9pm, you message for the items you’re interested in with a collection time and they’ll message you back to confirm collection and give you an address. Ideal for Neet and Lodger to go and gather for you. Always loads of bread/cakes, meal deal sandwiches etc in ours (as well as fruit and veg). Stretches the budget a bit further especially with hollow legged teens.Olio can be accessed via their app which is free to download and use. People offer other stuff for free too, not just food. Well worth seeing if there’s anything in your area. My local lady had 137 bags of parsnips after Christmas, I took 30, shared them with my neighbour and made gallons of soup for the freezer.2

I’ve nailed the food budget for this month. Down to the wire, but manageable. The cupboards and freezer needed a fresh start, and cleaning them out will be a breeze.

£8 in Vinted sales today. £38.80 in pending payments.
Very debt is currently £120. I’m itching to pay it off. I was paid yesterday. Should I pay off the debt and hope to recoup another £80 from Vinted, or should I eke out my limited patience for another two weeks?MBNA 237.47/13997.47
