Why would this not be the first thing to suggest? I have had previous appeals through to POPLA which have made it from this thread. Just wondering what the difference is with this one - its a BPA member and initially a postal charge now onto the second letter of a NK.
Just checking the POFA compliance too incase I can chunk up the appeal template.0 -
Also just re-read the first letter and its worded weird.. .on the 4th paragraph 'Under schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms....' it goes on to say that if you were not the driver you are invited to pay the charge or if you were not the driver again to provide the drivers info... can this count for anything or is it just all part of the !!!!!! produced from them?

We have a case tonight where someone is bemoaning having ruined their chances of PALS (hospital site) cancelling a PCN because sadly they wasted their time on POPLA before they came to the forum, thinking it was a real independent appeal service. PALS would have cancelled and said so. POPLA stopped that.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I understand and I will appeal against NSGL first not disclosing who was driving e.t.c. I am just planning my steps (so if the first appeal fails) I would try POPLA. I am not sure if I have a leg to stand on with POFA compliancy?0

But appealing is not plan A.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is what I was asking? Why not appeal, can’t I appeal and then if they decline I ignore and hope a LOC/LC doesn’t arrive?I’d rather try and get this put to bed now if it doesn’t make a difference than just waiting having this over my head until I will have to deal with court/claim letters0
-
Yes you can. Nobody says you can't try appeal. The NEWBIES thread says appeal.
It just isn't Plan A which is far more likely to work.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And plan A is to just completely ignore? You’re kindve still not answering my question …. (I mean you don’t have to!) but I really want to understand this process so I can do it by myself next time (hopefully there isnt) or help others…0

I’ve read other posts on here about people appealing as per the newbie thread with NSGL and what seems like success or then their post goes quiet so I’m trying to do the reading. It helps me to understand if I know why we’re doing these particular orders of things than just following orders (albeit extremely helpful anyway to obviously tell these !!!!!! companies to do one)0

Per Newbies faq:-
"Action to be taken if you are the registered keeper of the vehicle, in this order:
1. ALL CASES, EVERYWHERE - COMPLAIN FIRST, ESPECIALLY OVER A RETAIL, HOTEL, OR HOSPITAL CAR PARK:
Always complain to the Retailer very quickly. This is 'Plan A' :
Successful complaints about private parking tickets - how to get them cancelled! <<< CLICK
It can be easy and quick to get these cancelled by a landowner. If the charge was at a Hospital then immediately complain to PALS (Google it and find their local contact).
2. ONLY after exhausting the complaints option, then as Plan B, the keeper appeals.5
