Hello all,
Going to try and appeal this with the landowner if I can find out who! We parked here to look at a wedding venue and on the website misread the 'free parking' information and assumed we would be okay visiting a venue down the road and they would sort us out with a ticket/permit or something but we got so excited we forgot to ask when we got in and on leaving enquired about the parking and she said it was for when you have the wedding they provide free parking at the car park... doh.
Any tips for complaining to the landlord first would be super appreciated as I am aware I haven't actually been of any custom to these people on this morning!

Considering this...
'Hello,I am writing to ask for some help please on what has been a poor oversight from me and my fiancé with regards to parking at the estate. We visited on the 22/09/24 to come and view a wedding venue down here, we had misconstrued information on the website stating that free car parking was available. We were so excited to visit the venue we forgot to ask straightaway about the parking and it wasn’t until we were walking out the door we mentioned it to the owner and she informed us parking would be free via a permit for the actual wedding and for our guests and not for a single visit, by this point of course it was too late. I sincerely apologise for our oversight and would really like some help with getting our parking charge cancelled if we can sort the fees due for the stay in the car park with yourselves?Kindest Regards'0 -
Not sure where you are proposing to sent that letter/email, but surely the wedding venue would be falling over themselves in the rush to cancel this to avoid sending a potential customer away to some other more customer friendly venue.
It might even be in the venue's best interest to pay the parking charge for you to secure your wedding booking.
Rather surprised the venue didn't offer to sort out the issue when it became apparent at your first visit.4 -
Same. So I think you should suggest this experience has put you off the venue, etc.
In fact, that PCN would CERTAINLY send my family running away from that place and crossing it off the list, as it is a completely unsuitable wedding venue.
Think about what will happen to many of the guests two weeks after the Wedding. There is NO WAY they could all know to input their VRM to claim what you've been told would be free parking. No way is that possible with people arriving at staggered times all day/evening.
Run.
Do not pay the joke PCN but certainly try to get it cancelled. If not, ignore NSGLPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks guys ... amended the email for a slightly more outraged tone and have sent.
If there is no help with this as it is not their car park specifically but I know they can issue permits for it e.t.c (it's all a very small coastal village so we shall see...) do you mean ignore completely NSGL ... don't even appeal / POPLA e.t.c?0 -
As I thought , no help from the wedding venue. ‘Nothing they can do’ apparently. Am I ghosting this letter then…? Will they send more letters if so0
-
Put a bad review in TripAdvisor warning people off using it because the car park will trap users.
Of course they'll send more letters. Please read the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Okay will do, I’ll ignore the letter and hope I don’t get a claims letter in the future!I’ll contact the actual car park owner in the meantime asking for help too.2

In the newbies thread it says you don’t have to wait for a NTK that’s posted with no windscreen notice and to appeal with the one size fits all template.. why am I not doing this?0

Amended as had left reg. I just can’t find the info as to why I completely ignore these and I can’t appeal and go to POPLA e.t.c…0

You can. Worth a try.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
