All four lines on Connecations with no lives lost - that's a first. Wordle in four which is unusual for me, it usually takes five or six. Maybe the puzzle setters are kinder on Saturdays.Today I should write the rest of the thank you notes but the last post goes today at 12.30 and they're defo not going to be done by then. The forecast is rain from this evening and all day tomorrow, so, if I can gather up what's left of my physical strength I'd like to empty out the spent compost from a lot of pots to spread in the shrubbery and under the lemon tree which means that job won't have to be done in the spring when they're all full of soggy mud and we won't have to deal with the muddy splashes everywhere. It's just that i'm a bit knackered after two days of clearing out the deadwood out there. Normally when there's a few dry days I need to catch up on laundry but that's all done so I wouldn't be trying to do it while fighting my way through sheets and towels.Decisions decisions.Better is good enough.7

Morning all.
I have cleaned all through downstairs except for DH's room and ensuite - he can do them himself, along with putting away the cases he took to wargames last night, which are still sitting just inside the front door - and mopping the kitchen floor (which won't get done today). Upstairs is tidy, apart from my desk, which, as usual, is wip.
I've added to the pile of papers by researching recipes using green tomatoes - and not just chutney. Nigel Slater wins out with Baked Chicken with Tomatoes and Olives, but I've also found a tempting recipe for Roasted Cream of Green Tomato & Pea Soup.
I've also dealt with a large boat-shaped wooden pot containing two orchids, which I've had for over 10 years - it has stood on the bookshelves by our kitchen table, and one or both of the orchids has/have been almost constantly in bloom. Sadly, one of the plants is now on its last legs and it's really time for it to be decluttered. I've trimmed the other but haven't got a crock or glass pot of the right size to fit the plastic pot it's been grown in.
I have lots of spring flowering bulbs to replace the geraniums in the patio pots, but first I need to buy pansies or other winter bedding plants. Might take a trip to the GC later?
First, Rosie needs a walk. It's sunny and breezy here, but our laundry is all up to date: no doubt it will be raining again by the time I have another load ready.
Hope everyone has a dry and restful weekend xxx7 -
Second load is having an extra spin.
I've had 35 minutes trimming back the pampas in my front garden. My garden waste bin is now full up. And I'm hot. So that's it for today. I'll drape the rest of the washing on the airer when it finishes spinning. GBBO at 4. Strictly at 6.25. Read a book til then methinks. And cool down 🥵

Afternoon all, I've surfaced from this horrible covid ontop of covid thing that has completely floored me for 2 months. The cough is finally easing, and I'm actually getting some sleep at night now. Just have to build up my energy levels. The pup (Brucie) kept an eye on me every day, the other dog (Banjie) also sat on me every day..and if I moved they stuck with me too..Aren't animals funny?
I can't believe life has literally gone past me and I've missed birthdays etc.
I even managed to miss our year anniversary here of moving to Wales. I so wanted to have a small do with my sister and family but sadly that passed me by..lol
I took a lovely picture the other day, you could almost have it enlarged and framed it's that perfect.
Hard to believe this was literally at the bottom of the garden. The colours are so gorgeous. If I'd been feeling a lot better I would've driven to Borth beach to take a pic of the sunset over the sea. I still can't believe we actually live here, I have to keep pinching myself that it's real. DH said it's like being in a permanent holiday place 😉😋
So I apologise to all those events I missed by being out of action for these past two months. Believe me I never want to go through it again..it was absolutely shattering and horrible.
But I did see a returnee had come back to the fold - lovely to see you again sexymouse 😄
Off to make myself human now and then I think have a wee lunch.

Afternoon all!Gosh it does sound like I've missed a lot in the time I've been away - just seen your comment about chemo Valli - I'm hoping that you've come out the other side now and are fully recovered?Natty that sounds horrible - I'm pleased you're feeling a bit better now, and gorgeous photos too. Thank you for my welcome back.I had work again yesterday (it seems the ends of my weeks seem to be busy, and Monday are quiet at the moment). I have bookings for Monday and Friday next week though, so just Thursday afternoon for them to fill. The school I'm going to is one that was one of my first bookings after returning to supply in May, and it's a lovely school in the middle of a wooded area where they even get deer coming across the school field. It's also not too far to travel, so it will be nice to be closer to home.2 loads of washing done today - just waiting on one to finish so I can put it in the TD, and then the uniforms are done for the week. DH just home from work, so he's preparing lunch for the DSs who had very late breakfasts. DS2 seems to have used up the bread again, so wraps it is (I got DS1's leftovers from his dinner for my lunch).Need to do the meal plans and also try to go through my clothes and see what I fit into and needs washing again, as I've been invited to go out to dinner with a friend on Wednesday, and it's literally been years since I went out anywhere, so I've no idea what to wear. We're going to a pub (Table Table), so I guess nothing too dressy is needed, but I do like making an effort as it happens so infrequently.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20177

Lovely pics, Natty. Glad you’re on the mend at last x
Well, today wasn’t as planned but not in a bad way. I had a couple of hours “free” workout at the allotment this morning, coming home with an armful of chard and spinach, and some carrots. Spent an hour or so this afternoon tidying up the gh, and inspired by Iona, I sorted out some of the geraniums. And finally threw out a couple of dying - actually quite dead! - orchids from the DR. I dabbled with flying this afternoon as well - flicked the duster around downstairs, and vacuumed the DR and the stairs. The LR will have to be on tomorrow’s list. I already have a long list for tomorrow - was planning for rain and an excuse to do some dressmaking or suchlike, but that may have to be squeezed in, if at all.
We are out for an evening with friends later - only at their house thank goodness.6
