Still raining here too so Poppet has not been out.
I also joined sexymouse. Tuesdailies are almost done (I'll put out rubbish and recycling later), and I also cleaned the inside of the fridge.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Ah thanks for joining me ladies. In my HHC I managed to go through some of the clutter on the kitchen worktops, clean the dining table and wash up the mats, as well as some of the bits and pieces sitting at the side of the sink. I also had a phone call from the massage therapist that my pilates teacher recommended to me, and I'm booked in tomorrow afternoon with her (unfortunately I've taken my pilates teacher's slot as she's gone down with a cold and had to cancel tonight's class and her appointment tomorrow). Fingers crossed she's able to help my back, as it's still not right and keeps hurting off and on in the same spot. Along with this appointment, I have booked a hair cut for next week at a training salon, as well as booked to get my legs waxed tonight, as apparently I will need to wear shorts at tomorrow's massage appointment and I already have my winter coat on. lolETA: How is Poppet Jazee?Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20176

Thanks for asking. Poppet is fine and she's had a short walk.
Tuesdailies completed, bathroom s&sd and one appointment out of the way. I also found half an hour to do some knitting. No more flying for me today.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Valli said:After fatigue yesterday breaks will need to be factored in, not least because DD and I are going to the pictures tonight to see a filmed National performance starring Jodie Comer, Prima Facie. We saw it last year and it's an excellent piece of work and she is outstanding. We went to see & Juliet last night and left during the interval. For the first time in the theatre I honestly felt that the reason I didn't 'get' something was because I was too old, although I'm really not sure there is anything to 'get' about it.Dealt with the free-range pork chorizo and salami having havered what to do about them for a few days, and realised we won't want to eat that much meat witthin two weeks but will thoroughly enjoy eating both if it were sliced, divided into smaller portions and frozen. The slicer I bought years ago has done some sterling work this past month.I've cleared two shelves in the cupboard under the front steps and given away a kettle to a neighbour who was just about to buy one for her lodger's room, and the rest is going to the local hospice shop. All good stuff but we're never going to use it so I hope they make a pretty penny out of it all, and then filled the newly created space with some gibble from my office that I really do want to use at some point. Delighted with that bit of tetris.Belovéd has sourced a new loo seat and we're going to have to fit it later. He wants me to do the Instructions bit, which is progress because he just tips out all the bits of everything like that and then puts things together using his version of logic. There are often leftovers and things don't quite work, but one doesn't like to say anything ....Better is good enough.6

I went to see & Juliet at the weekend and loved it. Two hours of pure joy. I guess we can't all like the same stuff.
Second appointment done, another price rise, I've cooked dinner to give DH an evening off and just about to do washing up.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Thanks Jazee. I'm glad you loved it. I don't expect everyone to share my views or taste about anything.I've fitted the loo seat, assisted by Belovéd but frankly it would have been a lot quicker if I'd done it on my own. However, this way I can say he's partially responsible if this one slips and slides about as well. Win:win really. And it's his turn to cook supper. Excellent.Better is good enough.7

Thank you Honey Bear6 -
It sounds as if you had quite a day yesterday @Honey_Bear but today sounds better. "...his version of logic" really made me laugh.Sorry about vin diesel @roundtuit - I hope you can get a new car soon and like it as much.Sorry you've been unwell @valli I hope tomorrow is better.I've not heard of & Juliet but having looked it up I think I'm probably too old to enjoy it too.
It's moot though as I shan't be able to go. The last thing I can remember seeing at the theatre was The Crucible, at the Old Vic, which was absolutely fantastic. That was in 2014 though - surely I must have been between then and the start of the pandemic as I used to go to the theatre quite a bit, but I can't remember. I do remember during lockdown seeing on the TV a very moving performance, filmed during the first lockdown when the theatres were closed, of Uncle Vanya. At the end the actors slowly left the stage and the last one blew out a candle on the mantlepiece of the set and then the camera panned around to show that they were, of course, playing to a totally empty house. It moved me almost to tears.
With regard to flying, not much today. Just washing up and a S&S in the kitchen and I took down a bag of recycling and, later, a bag of rubbish. I also emailed the managing agent to ask what they are doing about some works costing £5.5K which were not correctly done and nearly 18 months later still haven't been sorted out. Other than that I went to the shops, prepared meals, went down to the basement to read the electricity meter, submitted the reading online, and did various other bits and bobs. I felt a bit sorry for myself later (which I have no right to do but there you are).Tomorrow morning I have a 90 minute dental appointmentand in the afternoon A has a telephone consultation with the GP abut his blood pressure and cholesterol (he had his lipids done on Monday and also his bp and has been doing home readings too). Both his lipids and his BP are a bit high but whether she'll adjust his meds I don't know - we'll see.

Sorry you didn't make it the cinema Valli. (((Hugs))) and (((hugs))) for you too CoG. We all feel a bit sorry for ourselves occasionally and if and when we do, it's it's all very well making lemonade when life hands us lemons -mbut sometimes we've had enough lemonade to last us a lifetime.Better is good enough.8

Morning all xx
It's still tipping down here - for the third day in a row. 🌧
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, taken my meds, completed Wordle in three, completed Connections with no lives lost, eaten breakfast and supped a brew.
At work yesterday I printed off all the documents that had been emailed to me re: Vin and what I had to do next. I located (at the third phone call) Vin and arranged for my air freshener (budgies - a gift) and my parking permit to me posted to me; I emailed my bank details so that they can BACS me the payout when it comes. Today I'll inform DVLC and my insurance broker that Vin is a total loss. Then post the log book to the Claims company. And I think that's it. I made a list and I'm ticking it off as I work my way through.
I also printed off the reading that DS and his DF want me to read at the ceremony and practiced reading it to.my colleagues.
I did get some work done too, honest.
Better get a move on.
Have a good day.
