Thank you as ever for the lists, Natty and Valli.
That sounds like a fabulous weekend, HB.
Well done Round on the amazing weight loss.Hugs, YL. I hope you can find a way through this.Very little flying done today, other than cooked dinner, WUDUPA. Set the wm going before I left this morning, and the towels are still showing no sign of drying. Wet, gloomy and windy for much of the day. More of the same weather tomorrow, so I am debating whether there is any point in loading the wm for the morning or not.
I trekked up and down the steps into the loft yesterday afternoon, putting summer clothes (such as they are) away and hoisting out the winter ones. A few bits are destined for the cs, waiting for DH to go into small town when he can drop them off.Now it’s feet up on the settee and a bit of knitting with a cuppa.6 -
I was just thinking only 2 pages so far but of course it is not Sunday but Monday!!!
Spent a fairly good weekend in Dorset. Despite my disappointment at Mum being moved to the 'upstairs', she seems more settled and we had 3 good visits, including one where we rang DB who is working in Germany for the week; Mum enjoyed talking to him. Her new room is a bit smaller than her old one, no kitchenette (not that she used it) but is bright and newly-painted, plenty big enough and actually overall it is £100pw less than the downstairs one, which is good news.
So flying has been in Mum's house. I've sorted the entire contents of her bureau which was littered on the dining room table as I only took the essentials plus the bureau to the care home. So there are now lots of neatly labelled and partially sorted magazine boxes on the table, comprising everything from loose photos, letters etc. Was fairly ruthless in throwing out old glasses/sunglasses, "useful" saved items like small plastic bags, a few little empty canisters that once contained camera film......
Mr N boxed up a lot of novels and travel guides which we can take to the CS.
Made a few phone calls, paid a bill and sorted out more current post which was sent to Mum's house.
Copied her address book so I can start writing to people who won't know her change of circumstances as people will start thinking about Christmas cards/messages soon.
Updated the shared notes/diary for DB to read.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
work today, swimming and errands run. Car dropped off for service but, as i was nipping round Mr M on way to garage, as was close by, i started to feel very tired, so snuggled under my new blanket when i got home, and had a nap.
Made tea, stacked DW and put swimming gear in to wash. WUALTD.

Morning all. Raining AGAIN.
Got wordle in five and the blue and yellow lines on connections. I will be flying gently this morning and have a couple of appointments this afternoon.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, taken my meds, turned over the calendars (how is it 1st October already?), eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew.
I had a phone call / email yesterday evening to inform me that Vin is a total loss...that's a write off in my language 😭. I'm gutted. Only had him for six months. At some point I'll have a good cry, but today I'll print off the emails and follow the instructions. Send bank details to receive money. Return log book. And I can keep the hire car until I get the money + 7 days. I think they were the salient points. I'll have a proper read once the documents are printed.
And if anyone at TT slams the door on me because I'm 'friends' with other colleagues and not with them (yes it really happened last Tuesday) I may slam a door or two too. I can't decide if I work in a playground or a lunatic asylum! (How does anyone think slamming a door on me will make me want to be her 'friend'??? I'm beginning to think I'm the sanest person in the office. That is frightening!!!)
And breathe...
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off - early to avoid the traffic snarls ups near TT.
Have a good day. Especially those of you who don't work on a Tuesday 😉.

Yes, Jazee, it’s raining again here as well. Again. DH is off out this morning running relative errands - that’s errands for relatives, not half hearted errands - and I am getting a hair cut later. Inconveniently bang slap in the middle of the day, but it was all that she could do. I need to take DD’s car so that it gets a run and some fuel, so I am (of course) anxious about all scenarios of getting there and back. Before I leave I really ought to fly, then there is a mountain of paperwork to tackle. So I’ll just have another cuppa to start the day right.
I hope Piggers is ok.
Have a good day all x7 -
DH and I never work on Tuesdays, and we are flying (home) today. Not looking forward to heavy rain and temperatures 10 degrees or more below what we’ve had here for the past week - though neither of us can cope with 30+ either.
RIP Vin Diesel. (((Hugs))) to round xx
I’m glad to hear you’ve had some good visits with your mum, Narc0. (((Hugs))) to you and MrN xx xx
Will see you all on the other side xxx5 -
Good morning everyone! Thanks for the thread Natty. After a late night last night (self-inflicted watching rubbish on TV), I prioritised having a shower this morning before the school run, so have just had breakfast whilst doing wordle (in 5) and connections (completed) whilst catching up with the thread.I noticed that my orchid's leaves were looking a little dry, so have just put it in a bowl of water. It's in full flower at the moment and looking lovely (a white dendrobium one like I had for my wedding bouquet). Need to do a fridge sort and clean today as I have just removed half a bag of salad (well it jumped out of the fridge when I got the milk for my coffee) which needs emptying into the compost.Anyone around and up for a HHC?Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20177

Morning all
meds down so shower time, then breakfast then I will make a plan for the day. After fatigue yesterday breaks will need to be factored in, not least because DD and I are going to the pictures tonight to see a filmed National performance starring Jodie Comer, Prima Facie.

I joined you, sexymouse. Bathroom cleaned, upstairs given a cursory dust and then vacuumed up there with the new vacuum cleaner. Still not entirely convinced, but it is a vacuum cleaner, speedy to use (that is probably me just cutting corners) and it is definitely picking up grot - more than I would have hoped for, eek - and vacuum cleaning will never be my most favouritest of jobs. Stopping now for a coffee, then it’ll be just about time to get going to Big Town for a hair chop. Looks like the admin will have to wait, oh dearie me 😉. Still raining…7
