Hope you feel better soon @laura_lauNo spending today, and I have only a small shopping list for the supermarket tomorrow. OH and I have decided we are over buying food, always having to use things up, freezer rammed etc - so we are going to stop and make use of what we have in.DD2 came for lunch today, and I had made soup with tired veg, so we had that and nice bread. Not much bread left, so rather than go to the corner shop, I used flour etc that I already have, and put a loaf in the bread maker. Also did the ironing (boo!) and cleaned half the main bathroom (still have the floor to do).Tomorrow won't be a NSD as I have to go to the dentistGrateful today for time spent with DD

Hi Sorry about being largely absent this month, but somehow I have become a magnet of financial whodunnits. I am currently in a row with my accountant as she never actually pressed submit on mu self assessment, and I got 3 hundred of pounds worth of day fines. I am just absolutely devastated. I asked her to fix it, and she wrote have that I have instructed her to fix it, to me that sounds like she is planning on billing me later, so I have said that I am asking her to correct her error, and not to bill me extra.
I feel I might be overreacting, but I really cant be paying her extra on top of the £700 bills she has cost me so far.
I am not sure who to contact, but think I will talk to citizens advice tomorrow, or find an other accountant. Quickly!
Apologies for rant. This week I am grateful for having exchange students staying, they are very young and speak very little English.
Happy days!

Today I am grateful for an easy journey, for a warm destination (although it's currently bucketing down!), for a lovely walk along the beach front, for a long phone call with Pip, for goggle maps.

Just realised it's still only Monday. I didn't sleep well (< 2 hours) and then had to force myself to stay awake because my day bed was being delivered in the 8 am - 11 am time slot. It came around 10 am and it's in 2 boxes so I'm hopeful that the back and base are fully assembled (I won't have to screw about 20 slats into place on each) and the shorter squarer boxes are the 2 sides.
I know where I want it to go but there's an awful lot of moving around to do so I'm taking it slowly. I did move more bags into the kitchen before they arrived and did a few last night. The washing has gone out on the line and all meals were from stores. The bin bag and can sack went out to the bins. I could have got more in the bin bag but it was taking up a lot of floor space and getting in my way. I've since taken out a bin bag from their room.
Found another police drama to watch - it's very old. I recognise most of the actors but some of them are younger than I ever remember seeing them before.
Grateful for lovely food, lots of reading and resting (and naps), Just getting another patch of floor done bit by bit.9 -
Hugs to the poorlies & @ditty1234, I hope you get things sorted soon.
I loved watching Alvin's programme - hmm, wonder if it's watchable on any online platforms? Might be worth watching them again.

Woke DS3 up at 6.30, then headed back to bed. Eventually nodded off again for an hour. Parceled up my Eboy sales, & walked in the rain to post them. (Counting as NSD as customers paid for postage). Before I set off, our indoor cats had brought in 3 tiny mice, one after the other, which they'd caught in their catio! DH attended to the first 2, but then had gone outside, so I had to get some toilet paper & pick #3 up!! Whilst I was at the PO, they'd apparently caught a 4th! DH took great pleasure in telling me that he thinks the one I picked up was a baby rat 🤯😱🤢 he's put 2 of the ones he'd picked up in tubs in the greenhouse, thinking he might then put them in gerbil cages. THEY ARE NOT BEING KEPT AS PETS IN MY HOUSE!! He has been told 🤣
Watched more episodes of a series, whilst replacing 3 more coat zips & keeping an eye on the new-to-us cat interacting with the other 2 cats. After tea, sorted through papers in our bedroom & hand stitched a large badge on a blazer for a customer.
Grateful for the vermin being back outside, chats with DS1 (he'd fallen out with DS3 a year ago, but said he'd make him a bday card for tomorrow, & consider doing family things in the future, eh film nights- so a big step forward), receiving an email from the coal company asking us to try a new type of coal, which would give us 40 bags for the same price as 30 of our normal sort. (Anyone else used Glo coal before?)Use it up, wear it out

Evening all,
NSD #6 today, a fairly quiet but reasonably productive day mainly spent putting things away in the correct places and taking Mum’s bed apart ready for it to be collected at the end of the month. Have also almost finished another blanket, using up leftover bits of wool, only half a round to go. Once that’s finished I might give the crocheting a rest and work on some other craft projects for a while.
Tomorrow is unlikely to be an NSD as I think we’re probably doing food shopping. If that’s the case I’ll also get petrol at the same time. Also need to collect together all the rubbish and recycling to put out for Wednesday collection (including remembering some stuff that’s in our cellar), tidy and organise some stuff in Mum’s room so we can get to the unwanted treadmill as that will be picked up sometime this week, and clearing some more floor space in my room.
Grateful for delicious meal cooked by DB1 tonight, another weight loss at SW today and putting things away to give me bits of additional space.7 -

Evening all.Today I have rushed around like a mad woman. Work is always super busy but today was like spinning multiple plates at the same time. I took myself for a walk after work for some well-being. Needed to clear the day out of my head.I have avoided a trip to a shop, thus losing my nsd as I have put on the breadmaker to make a lovely homemade loaf. So I am now on nsd #8. I tend to do a run of 4 during the week and then do all my spending at the weekend.I need to strip all beds this weekend and wash bedding. Also need to sort my closet (and children’s) and donate as I’ve been putting it off for ages. Both added to my to do list thanks Grandmanerd.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #826

Today I am grateful for meeting up with dsd1 and her family, for taking myself on a long walk this morning and visiting a Roman theatre, castle and the Gibralfaro, for being asked questions in the street - people are assuming I'm Spanish 🤣 so it's just as well I understand the questions, for Pip having a good day at schoolk for the washing machine in my Airbnb.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

One of the best days ever!
Woke DS3 the birthday boy, up at 6.30 for work. Did my Norwegian, read my book whilst eating breakfast, then hung the washing out, as it was a set, sunny day. Plugged in my headphones & listened to the radio as I painted a shed.
DH reheated the soup I'd made yesterday for my dinner, then it was baking time. Whipped up a couple of sponges for the birthday cake, then DS1 & I attempted to make Halloween chocolate bark. It worked out ok, but would do it slightly different another time! Then I showed him how to make popcorn in a pan.
Washed the dishes, but the washing in the airer, then met DS3's work colleagues who dropped off 6 bags of firewood.
DS1 & 3 haven't talked for over a year. DS1 made 3 a birthday card & wrote a long letter in it, expressing how he felt because of the event & at then said I forgive you. I wanted to burst into tears! It's the best gift I could ever have dreamed of!!
DS3 had gone to see a friend after work, but after I picked him up, he'd opened his presents & we'd sang happy birthday, we all had a family film night, eating all the goodies we'd made this afternoon. When the boys were little, in the last day of the school holidays, I'd prepare lots of treats, they could watch as much TV or go on the computer as long as they wanted. We called these days 'Super Party Fest Jabs'. No idea where it came from, but that's how it felt tonight ❤️😍❤️
Grateful for my boys speaking again, DS3 having a fun evening, a great day!Use it up, wear it out
