To do the brickwork properly, the frame needs to be taken out and the left jamb have some more bricks cut out. The frame can then be moved over about an inch, so the jamb can be built straight.
The right hand jamb can then be rebuilt with less of a zipper joint.1 -
Small outfit, but tecommended. Windows paid for - in full. Im thinking, pay for the good succesful replacement - labour cost, but thats all.0

Hi Stuart - thanks, yes your right the bottom left being the issue (gap) - i can put a board over the hole - coach bolt on a 2x4 inside whilst the wall is built again - (he rushed it completely)0

On the left hand jamb, the brickie needs to take out the half bats and the whole brick that was newly laid, but also needs to cut out the 5 original bricks next to the frame. Ones cracked anyway, and one higher up is chipped. If you put a a level against the bricks you'd see they don't line up. They very rarely do when you put a new window in, as when the brickies are running in the brickwork the perp joints are normally in slightly different positions on each course.1

Yes - and then measure the gap needed and ensure the right hand side is level (with less of a zip joint. Then im thinking - board it up to dry for a week or so - before fitting the window -0

Im tempted to do it myself - take my time. Spirit level eveything. I have done plenty of diy stuff before so have a reasonable competence level0
