Last day today , have thoroughly enjoyed my break on my own. I even met a lovely gentleman yesterday, we were company for each other on the way back on our walk . I have met a lady from Edinburgh who is on her own as well so we eat together .Some good news from home , looks like our last year pay settlement is going to be settled so back pay plus a lump sum .This year they are opening 4 day week for everyone who wants it and reducing our working hours to 35 from 36 with no loss of pay .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.1

This is as expected. I come back after some time away to a photo of a beautiful lake from your holiday! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Well the time has ran away from me again . Have been heavily involved with parents the last couple of weeks . Dad had an eye op finally after getting injured in August last year by a tennis ball . He is having lots of eye drops.
i have enjoyed a weekend with a friend in the next county that included a trip out as well .Another trip with a MSE friend always enjoyable . Plus my walking group occupies my Saturday mornings once a fortnight .School on Friday mornings is always a joy , I can nearly identify 25 children with the right names now 😂.Holidays are booked for October a craft week in the Lakes . November in Fuertrventura with my friend .I am very much looking forward to a trip to Essex for a good friends big birthday. Then onwards to the North East for a few days .
We finally settled on last years pay rise so the back pay has been stashed in the holiday pot .All breaks carefully funded for those booked so far but will look to go away again in Feb 2026 .
As like everyone else my bills have increased but my rent only went up 2.7% so not so bad .I am trying to build a buffer in my bills account now , looking for this to be about £750 .
Today finds me in Windermere visiting my friend , Booths cheese counter beckons , as well as a lake view . This is my happy place full of special memories.
