I spent £28.97 today but mostly stuck to my list. Since it included dishwasher tablets and olive oil I feel like I did pretty well. The only non-list items were some Halloween sweets for DS as I'm going to do a little Halloween treasure hunt for him in the house. I think he's too old for trick or treat now he's started secondary school but he's grumpy at missing out so I'll make sure he has some fun at home instead.

Hello again everyone. I visited the high street today after a doc appointment this morning. The first stop was Savers to get some plasters but I won’t add that to the GC total. Next I tried Iceland for a bone in ham hock but they didn’t have any. Neither does Tesco online. Something must be going on in our area. I also checked the frozen strawberry prices in Iceland to get ready for Autumn/Winter oatmeal breakfast making. The prices are ehhh – £2.25 for 350g and it was Del Monte. No store brand frozen fruit at all in my Iceland branch. Maybe this weekend I’ll check Lidl to see theirs.
Anyway, lastly I shopped at M & S and spent £18.25. I only intended to get fruit and eggs but kept remembering things while there. I bought bananas, strawberries, clementines, celery, double cream, 12 eggs, crunchy peanut butter, coffee beans, and a pain au chocolat and a croissant as a treat for Mr. Jings and me. I forgot to check the frozen strawberry prices in M & S.
My body is in need of citrus — I’m getting sick and am trying to fend it off. Covid and flu have been rampant in our area and Mr. Jings has been working with kids lately. The darling little petri dishes! 😂
£133.97 / £325.00 spent. £191.03 remaining
On Sunday I boiled the small 750g smoked gammon and reserved the boiling water. I’ve put on split pea and ham soup in the Instant Pot for tonight’s dinner. We still have ham left in the fridge for sandwiches and wraps later in the week. The cream bought today is to eat with the chocolate banana muffins for desserts. We’ll use the rest in a quiche or mashed potatoes later.

A wet trip to Asda late this afternoon. £12.49 spent.
The flour was on offer at £3. The 3kg of flour will make seven and a half loaves.
We had a small beef joint from the freezer on Sunday, and 4oz of cheese, and we have had 18 eggs from the hens so far this month.

I've got a couple of deliveries due Friday night from Tesco and Sainsbury's for heavy and storcupoard stuff, such as tins of beans, tomatoes and cartons of milk.Decluttering campaign 2023

Went away for a few days so ended up spending £25.74 at waitrose on 5/10, and £34.30 again at waitrose ( really shouldn't go there for groceries as it's so expensive but was in a rush). £3.50 at superdrug and £13.25 at health food shop.
Total spend for 2 weeks so far £241.61 - weekly amount is £112 plus £40 tins so doing ok. Got just over £20 left until Monday and I have this in cash. Got lots of food in freezer and will just need to do a menu plan until Sunday. Likely to need some fresh veg and fruit over the next couple of days.
Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6005 -
I must declare 3 bars of Waitrose 90% chocolate, INGREDIENTS: Cocoa mass, cocoa butter, cane sugar, on offer at £1.80 for 100g.
Also a bag of malted and seeded wholemeal flour at £2.40.
£7.80 spent very indulgently.
I put my free black coffee straight into a small flask and enjoyed it, diluted a bit, when I got home.We have our ration of 2oz of chocolate each a week. Mine lasts all week as one small piece at a time is plenty. Lecithin free chocolate is getting harder to find.
(We don’t buy the Lt brand since they killed all of the Lidl Easter Bunnies.)
Grocery Budget £155. £41.95 spent, £113.05 left.9 -
