I also bought a small gammon to boil and roast so we can use that to slice. Instead of buying expensive packets of ham, I wanted to try doing it ourselves to see how we fare.
Never tried roasting it, as I get the small joints it doesn't seem worth it.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

I usually soak a smoked gammon joint for an hour or so to get rid of the excess salt. Then boil it and then the stock will be find for pea and ham soup. I usually boil mine with chopped onions and a couple of bay leaves.7

Sorry late to start ... hope all are well. Tx @elsiepac for running this as always
******** £180 plus £30 bulk ********
Last month I spent £200.02 plus £4 bulk on grocery exc household items such as toilet paper. Just me. Plus £23.19 sweets/crisps/junk
It was up but I am experimenting with a slow carb day (as per the 4 hr body book) as I have put on extra pounds on as perimenopausal. The slow carb eating I am loving it.. Feel well fed, feel and look great and have lost llbs.. However as 6/7 days a week it is protein, beans, loads of greens/veg (no dairy, no bread/rice/potatoes/fruit) then a cheat day of what you want.
However it means I can only buy YS fresh veg/proteins etc as opposed to YS GF sausages. YS GF bread etc, as always the healthier the eating the more expensive it is. I am eating down the YS stuff in freezer such as meatballs on my cheat day
So I may need to switch up to £200 per week moving forward but we will see.
I am spending less in bars as I never now buy crisps or nuts and am on red wine (less carby) so I also drink slower !!
Oct so far £47.58 spent - freezer is full of proteins (often YS) and am upping my frozen veg amounts as opposed to fresh. My freezer is not huge though
I have found I am better on canned beans, dry though cheaper are a bit harder to digest so I am currently seeing where best price tinned beans are - I should probably buy them in bulk - any suggestions on bulk tin bean buys?
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks @joedenise, I'll do a soak this weekend then boil it.
I've just returned from a quick high street shopping trip. £2.99 spent in Savers on Listerine mouthwash. £2.75 on frozen waffles in Iceland. £9.63 in M & S for 2 packs of strawberries, parsley, capers, garlic, butter, and a YS loaf of wholemeal bread.£113.33 / £325.00 spent. £211.67 remaining
Time to keep my hands in my pockets!

Evening all,
Well its only day 4 but l already feel like the budget is going to be very tough this month.
£241.64 / £650 has gone already
Both vehicles have been filled up with fuel although DH paid on the wrong card, so to recoup the money he paid his public liability insurance on our credit card instead costing £108.55.
I did a small £19.73 shop at Aldi, l only found turkey mince reduced to £1.35 which I'll have for a couple of lunches next week. Another £63.36 was spent at Lidl mostly on fruit, veg, a roast chicken, pork steaks, bacon and a large block of cheese.
Like @LadyWithAPlan I'm embarking on a heathy eating journey. I'm seriously lacking in energy, motivation and all my clothes particularly around my waist are uncomfortably tightIf l don't do something soon it will be 2025 and even harder. But like you said healthy food costs ££. Thankfully I've got quite a lot of YS meat in the freezer to get me started. Ive never heard of the 4 hour body method I'll be googling later
