I lease my car and have received a letter from my leasing company that includes a scan of the letter they've received about me staying over the limit in a Sainsbury's car park on 28th August. My leasing company have said they have 'made representation that the vehicle is in your posession' and that 'the parking operator should now re-issue the parking charge notice to you'.

I know on that day I paid for a space through yourparkingspace for 1pm-7pm but I booked it using my private plate. My car is due to go back to the leasing company next week so inbetween me making the booking and parking there I had changed the plates to the cars original one, which is what is on the image.

I've got a feeling that it's the changing of plates that's the issue because I've been booking a space there for over a year to watch the football and never had an issue until now. So I would assume ECP are selling their spaces on other parking sites.

My question is, I have the email confirmation of my booking of the space, and my email from the DVLA telling me to change my plates over, so I can prove that my car did have that number plate and a space was paid for. Or, do I wait for them to send me the paperwork in my name and use a template?

Thank you

Also to add, from reading the newbie thread I've noticed the letter my leasing company received says 'notice to keeper' and I believe I'm not the registered keeper or owner.

DO NOT APPEAL TALKING ABOUT WHO WAS DRIVING. DO NOT IMPLY IT!

    NO STORY. FORGET THE NUMBERPLATE.

    Await your Notice to Hirer.

Then appeal as hirer with the bespoke wording written by @Edna_Basher in the NEWBIES thread section about leased/hired vehicle PCNs.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

That's the template I was looking at using, that's great I'll stick with option 2 then and wait for my letter, thank you :)

How long should I wait for the notice to hirer before I do anything?
I received the letter from my leasing company on the 13th Sept
The letter they sent to my leasing company says payment by 27th Sept which is next friday, but I've received no notice to hirer letter yet

I'm guessing then it's like the speeding ticket I got, where they need to address me directly?

Yes but this is NOTHING like a proper fine!

I've finally received my notice to hirer today from ECP so I'm going to appeal now using the template from edna_basher that begins "I refer to the above-detailed Parking Charge Notice (“PCN”) issued to me by... "

I've received a reply today that my appeal has been rejected and must pay £50. I understand that I can now appeal to POPLA. Do I just search the forum and find a similar case and see what they put? Are there certain things I have to include?

Just a bit anxious about this part if there's no template I don't want to mess it up

I don't have any evidence other than my email receipt for parking from an external website and then confirmation of my number plate change, but I don't know if I should start mentioning that now

This was a VRM keying error case. Are you sure they have not offered to settle at £20?

If not, they've breached the BPA CoP and that will win at POPLA.
