Just had a call from the citizens advice about me wanting to volunteer..
They're going to send me out an information pack.. she said that the training is a good 6-9 months in 2 3 hour sessions a week (mon to fri) in wombourne but with the possibility of me being able to do some in Penk... then after you're trained they usually ask for a good 18 month commitment to them as a volunteer because of the cost involved with the training which is fair enough... They're always in need of money advisers so if I was accepted and trained there would be good prospects for me to get a job within the CAB and she's given me a web address to be able to have a mooch online....
seems there's only 2 problems..... 1 babysitter..... 2.. getting to and from wombourne twice a week which is a good 45 min drive each way......
and that's IF I was chosen, as apparently if I'm happy with everything I need to meet with the woman who called and an area manager for an interview to see if I'm suitable..
Nothings ever straight forward is it?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Just been having a read of this new diary- I was wondering where you'd gone!
WRT Ash's pre-school sessions, she can have 5 2.5 hour sessions each week.
She can take 2 sessions in one day but they have to be separated by an hour break. If the nursery do lunch you can pay for that. I just pick DS up during his lunch break or DH has to pick him up if I'm working/sleeping.
So you would be able to have 2.5 days without having to pay more than the lunch break. HTH and good luck for your filming.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

IA, I volunteer for something very similar to the CAB but for young people. Anyway, they pay my travel expenses and I know they pay a bit towards childcare too for volunteers with under 10s so it might be worth asking? No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

The 4350 piggy points went in this morning from the train tickets..
So I've ordered a £10 boots vouchers, £30 of arcadia vouchers (burton, dotty p's etc) and a free blockbuster movie rental voucher...
Ordered them today so fingers crossed that they arrive for us going to london so we've got some extra spending money
Ste's set himself a new challenge. He wants/needs a proper acoustic drumkit for the band. The electronic kit is great especially for home recording BUT we're having problems with the PA at the practice studios with the vocals completely drowning out the drums.. no idea why.. must be some kind of problem with the PA but he wants to get one for when we start gigging anyway soooooo....Welcome to Day 1 of the ...'Ste's drum kit challenge 'The challenge is to raise the money for a drumkit via any method possible but he's going down the selling stuff/ebay route at the moment... he wants to raise £600 which will get him a decent mid range kit and decent cymbals. He doesn't need a pedal as he's already got his double pedal... so it's just the kit, cymbals and practice pads...The rules :-- Money must be raised seperately to our debt targets...
-
No using credit of any form
-
No selling wife or children
-
No using debt savings or budget money
-
The money raised must be used for a drumkit and not random consoles/gadgets! :rotfl:
