IA I am doing the OU course DB123 now and it's really good. You would definitely get funded - we do and we have a higher income. They only count earned income and taxable state benefits- tax credits don't count or child benefit. If you get any housing benefit you automatically get courses paid too. You would probably get a £250 grant as well towards study costs.

  • Ooooh I've done it! I've taken the plunge and registered online for the OU course... Apparently as my details match a few on the database they can't process it right away or something but I should get the registration pack and financial support form through the post in 10 days or so...
oooh it's all exciting.. :D I'm on the way to getting my career back :D:T

If this is what a few nights sleep has done for you I wonder what a few more will do for you!?! :p I am delighted for you but you don't hang about, if only I could be more decisive!!

Yay, well done! Oh, and you will get to chat online to other OU students and they have LOADS of chat rooms on their conferencing suite, lol. They even have a conference just for pagans ;)

To get the funding, I think, you will have to link the course to a degree (even if you don't actually want to take a full degree) so link it to an Open Degree when the form comes (email me if you want a hand with it all, I'm a veteran OU form filler lol).

Be warned the OU sends out an awful lot of paperwork. If you complete two 30 point courses you can normally get a certificate which entitles you to use letters after your name but it depends what courses you complete.
