Spud! you are naughty!!!!
IA - re the 50 burgers, i made burgers in onion gravy in the slow cooker last week! It was a revelation! definately worth trying.... if not slow cooker then in the oven for an afternoon...
raw burgers (okay from frozen. brown them if you like, but i don't) into casserolo/SC
raw chopped onion
pint-ish of hot water with 3 oxo cubes
2-3 hours in medium oven(180) should do it, or as long as you like in slow cooker... i did mine all day.
little bit of gravy granules for last 20 mins to thicken up.
yum yum yum!!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

you've got loads of good meal suggestiosns already, so my suggestion is for the shopping list. stock up on onions, mushrooms etc. and with the tinned toms is a great base for a lot of meals. maybe buy lentils, pulses, beans etc to bulk out casseroles, or use rice to do the same.
When you have used up the jar / packet sauces, replace them with the ingredients. buy some plain flour and cornflour and that can be the base for all you white / cheese sauces and gravies.
Save the cooking water from when you boil veg to make veg stock. This can be used to make gravy, soups, or just used in casseroles, risottos.
I dont know much about making curry sauces because we dont eat them, but there will be plenty of advice on the OS board if you want to know how to make your own (I think its just a matter of knowing what spices / herbs to use).0 -

So you have to manage on whats in the freezer until then......only buying fresh & nappies/wipes.....and then menu plan for the month (and stick to it) for when you do an on-line shop after Ste's pay-day.immoral_angeluk wrote: »What's a kate and sidney pie????
Steak & kidney, otherwise known as snake & pigmy.....doesn't matter what it's called, I still hate the kidney/sidney/pigmy bit!0
