They are a bit of a 'mare aren't they...... took me ages to get mine to work (your sig is too long, you are only allowed five lines - I'VE ONLY GOT FIVE BL00DY LINES!).
Is the figure what u have outstanding, or is it a settlement figure?'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -

Hi IA, just had a look at your SOA and have a couple of points to add.
The child benefit is 4 weekly not montly. which means its £130.86 so an extra tenner per month - might just makes things stack up better on paper. Again this goes up in April by £1.15 per week (for 2 kids). So as of the new tax year this will be £125.40 per 4 weeks or £135.85 per calendar month.
Not sure if you've calculated the tax credits in the same way as again they're usually paid 4 weekly / weekly.
Have you compared your car insurance recently. Im paying about the same (£37 per month which includes a 8% fee for the priveledge of paying monthly). When I checked online I discovered I could save £245 off the annual premium. Apologies if you have already got this as low as poss.
I echo what the others have said about groceries. I have the same size family as you (my kids are literally a few months older) and managed to buy all food, cleaning stuff, toiletries, cat food and nappies for £148 in Jan (Im aiming for £130 in Feb). Not sure if you're eldest is in nappies still but even so I would say there is some scope for improvement. Perhaps aim for £200 for Feb, and reduce by £10 every month for the next 3 months. Then by May you will have an extra £46.50 every month, which covers that £45 you needed.
Definitely worth looking at the car finance. We have a similar deal with DH's motorbike, its the same sort of interest rate. we can pay out of ours 6, 12, or 18 months early, and by doing it this month (18 months early) it saves us £180. So we freed up a credit card and are going to pay it off, even at the purchase rate its still cheaper. (theres more info in my diary about it if that isnt clear). Also having on credit card makes the payments more flexible than the fixed repayments of the loan.
It sounds really though as if you have the majority of the budget very well sussed and everything is accounted for.0 -
