I mainly use the USB port of this myself, but it requires a USB-A to USB-C cable (the A end goes into the Masterplug and the C into the phone) to charge the A35 as Masterplug haven’t brought out a USB-C version yet as far as I’m aware: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Masterplug-SRGASUBPW3-Adapter-Charging-Sockets/dp/B0874BQJ4Q/ref=asc_df_B0874BQJ4Q/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696285193871&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3231501793480806899&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045604&hvtargid=pla-2281435178578&psc=1&mcid=225fe373310d33e89970b5e31fefefa1&th=1&psc=1&hvocijid=3231501793480806899-B0874BQJ4Q-&hvexpln=74&gad_source=10 -

I suppose the majority want fast charging, so the market moves with them (though I understood that fast charging would negatively impact battery longevity.)
I found the black version listed on the manufacturer’s website, giving the maximum USB power as 15.5W: https://www.masterplug.com/uk/products/usb/surge-adaptor
I have been critical of the requirement to offer devices for sale without chargers. That is all we get, meaning a potentially increased use of dangerous chargers and a mismatch between chargers and devices as I doubt the average user understands the specification of the various chargers available. When the charger was in the box, it did the job without the user having to worry about it.1 -

I can understand that many homes now have a drawful of charging bricks, many surplus to need, so supplying a charger with every new device could be seen as wasteful (and an additional cost). OTOH these chargers are likely to be of a decent quality and suitability since they come with a reputable manufacturer's phone. I too have a fear of having cheapy no-name devices plugged into my supply.
Re: Fast (and Super/Ultra Fast) Charging - sure you are right and faster charging your device can be detrimental to your battery but it's my understanding that using a "smart" charger and a compatible device & cable together with battery conserving settings on the phone can largely mitigate the effects. Upside means I can charge my Samsung 4000 mAh phone from 20 to 80% in 30-odd minutes (as can my partner since we can share the 45W charger).1 -

Instead, manufacturers just removed chargers from all the boxes and increased their margins, and if you can find a charger offered by the manufacturer for less than £20 it is a bargain.

My chargers (or the ones I've bought separately) are all Anker, with their IQ charging technology.
My pixel 8 phone manages it's own charging, drawing power slowly overnight to help with battery health.1 -
Curry's was our stock. The charger I ordered is being delivered tomorrow so will wait and see. Thank you so much Sue0

The charger arrived this afternoon. It says DNSEA Says new for Samsung A35 White. I have got it charged up now but not had the time to read the instructions. I don't want to transfer all my photos as there are a lot of repeats. I will need to delete them before I can link the two phones. Do all the emails and texts transfer as well. I can't remember what I did last time. I can't remember if there was instructions with it or not. It was relatively easy to link the phone to the old one but that will be 4-5 years ago. I will check back here before I try to do anything.
Many thanks Sue0 -

If your old phone cannot download this app, it will be a case of moving everything manually.1 -
Thanks you for the advice I used Smart Swich for the transfer. My big problem is that I don't have the apps that I like on the front of the phone. I googled Facebook Messenger and I have all sorts of names coming up I am deleting them. BUT the biggest problem is that rather than messenger as I know it I seem to be in to chats which I don't want at all. Right now I can't seem to get rid of it. When I click on anything it is asking me to join.
I am quite alarmed by that. The other question is that while there is no SIM in my old phone it seems to still be working when I google anything on it. Should this happen? Maybe if I switch it off that will stop. I apologise for all the questions. I am 82 and it and I am a bit fearful that I will get on to something I don't want; I am using my laptop for this message. Thank you all so much X0 -

If you hold down on the app icon, and drag it up it should allow you to remove it from the front screen (you'll see a delete/bin icon at the top). If "App info" pops up, clicking on that should allow you to disable and/or uninstall.
