Thanks very much. I will have a look at this. I don't know why but the same phone is more expensive in yellow A55 and in lilac in the A35 both from John Lewis. Maybe demand ? Thanks again0

There’s also this one comparing the two:
https://www.phonearena.com/reviews/samsung-galaxy-a55-5g-vs-galaxy-a35-5g_id6168
A55 is a smidge smaller, but slightly heavier (4 grams.) It has an aluminium frame and glass black vs plastic on the A35.The A35 has the same processor as the A54 (i.e. the more premium of the two handsets they offered last year) with the A55 having a better processor that came out this year. Here’s a link to a comparison between the two: https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/samsung-exynos-1480-vs-samsung-exynos-1380
With the A55 you also get camera improvements if that is important to you and the 8GB RAM as standard.
Some retailers put different colours on offer at different times - I noticed that John Lewis had some iPad colours for less too, while others were full price.
This video has a roundup of some mid range smartphones (both the A35 and A55 feature with longer reviews of both phones available on the same channel.)

Thank you for that. John Lewis have the higher spec for £288 but lilac is out of stock. I think I will speak to them and see if they will sell the lilac for the same price as the other colours. Sue0

John Lewis would not sell the lilac for the same price as the other colours. I have ordered it from Argos and will be delivered this evening. Had to pay £5.95 for delivery. I could not use my £104 Nectar points as I am waiting on a new card. But within 10 days they say. I can use them for something else and I do shop with Sainsbury's Much thanks to everyone Sue

I have received the phone but I did know that there is no charger with the phone. The charger I have will not fit the phone cable. I am very concerned about fires that have been caused by chargers. I have ordered a charger which is being delivered tomorrow. Could you give me some advice about the best charger to buy. I appreciate your help with this0

What was your previous phone? This will determine whether the lead for your old phone can be removed (it comes out like a USB stick if so), but some older/basic phones have leads that are fixed to the charger so they can’t be reused.
The likes of Anker/Belkin/Juice purchased from a reputable supplier should be fine. Not eBay/Marketplace. E.g. Anker fulfilled by Amazon is OK, as the product came from the manufacturer, but not a phone store you haven’t heard of as you don’t know whether their supply is genuine.
I have just ordered an Anker wall plug today to replace a wall brick that has gone intermittent, but as it hasn’t arrived yet I can’t comment on a specific plug. I chose Anker as I have a portable battery pack of theirs that has been good.
I mainly use the USB port of this myself, but it requires a USB-A to USB-C cable (the A end goes into the Masterplug and the C into the phone) to charge the A35 as Masterplug haven’t brought out a USB-C version yet as far as I’m aware: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Masterplug-SRGASUBPW3-Adapter-Charging-Sockets/dp/B0874BQJ4Q/ref=asc_df_B0874BQJ4Q/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696285193871&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3231501793480806899&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045604&hvtargid=pla-2281435178578&psc=1&mcid=225fe373310d33e89970b5e31fefefa1&th=1&psc=1&hvocijid=3231501793480806899-B0874BQJ4Q-&hvexpln=74&gad_source=1
Edited to add: When your Nectar card arrives, perhaps see what Sainsbury’s have as you could use your Nectar points to pay.Edit again: I have this cable with my portable charger (USB-A to USB-C.) No complaints. https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-Cable-Charger-Compatible-Galaxy-Gray/dp/B07PQXTH41/ref=asc_df_B07PQXTH41/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=697209270417&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17029816923634858654&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045604&hvtargid=pla-769892383679&mcid=0851fbdc36893b17b8e462117353cf46&gad_source=1&th=1
The cable supplied with my mum’s A55 (and presumably your A35) was 1 metre but I use a 1.5 or so with the Masterplug. I would favour braided as the cable should be longer lasting1 -
I'd just buy a Samsung charger from Currys for 15 quid

What have you actually ordered?0
