It'd be easier for them to pickpocket my wallet to be honest. These things are the concern of my card issuers and insurers ultimately, not me.0

My default card for everything is American Express.
For places that don't accept that I use Sainsbury's Bank (Mastercard).
If that won't work for any reason then my last option is Nationwide (VISA).
If none of them work then I'd hope that whatever I was trying to buy wasn't that important...0 -
Google Pay requires biometrics/PIN too. Lowlife would be better grabbing my card (if I had been carrying it) and using <£100 contactless until I stopped/reported it.Desmond_Hume said:Gerry1 said:sausage_time said:My active cards are on my phone anyway, so carrying multiple cards is not an issue for me personally. Unlocked doesn't help them as you still need pin or biometrics to make a payment. If they managed to swipe it after already doing biometrics to prime a card they have only 30 seconds or so to whizz away and make a single purchase after which time biometrics need to be repeated. Were they to snatch my card instead they could make multiple up to £100 purchases until such time as I've managed to freeze the card.Gerry1 said:sausage_time said:My active cards are on my phone anyway, so carrying multiple cards is not an issue for me personally. Their best bet really is to steal my wallet because I might not notice that immediately giving them more time to spend on the cards before I get chance to freeze them0 -

You couldn't even make a phone call in the unlikely event you could find a working payphone nearby.0 -
It's a valid point @Gerry1. When I travel on holiday or for work I generally have all my tickets and other confirmations on my phone too. But in that case I do take my cards with me, and a small laptop too so I can access such documents if I lose my phone.Gerry1 said:DullGreyGuy said:

Then what would the relevance of it being unlocked?Gerry1 said:DullGreyGuy said:

Pre having the likes of ApplePay would have exactly the same problem if wallet was stolen0 -
I've never tried this yet and hope I don't ever have to, but I might use my Apple Watch (cellular) to lock my iPhone and then use Apple Pay on the watch to get home.0

Wallet theft is probably less common than phone theft. You won't see many people walking along the street openly displaying a wallet worth £500 — £1000.DullGreyGuy said:
