Flylady posivibes out in the ether to whoever needs them today.
Morning all. It's a damp and blustery day here. Yesterday was lovely with all three grand girls here. DGD3 mostly slept but was awake for the couple of hours DH was looking after her. There were only tears from the other two when they didn't want to share toys. Friends in the end though and had a fun time at their dancing class.
Today I aspire to do dailies, walk Poppet, get washing up to date, get admin done, change sofa covers and bedding, hoover through, go to exercise class and dentist. Anything else will be a bonus.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Posivibes for you Round. I can't get any lines on connections this morning so you're far more switched on than I am. Two lives used already and no idea what to try next. Will come back to it later. I often can't get any. Good luck with job-hunting because TT doesn't seem to be getting any better, does it.Today I've got a dental appointment which messes up my Flying (such a shame) but as I've got all the bits and pieces I didn't do yesterday to do after the marathon in the kitchen so that delays the dreaded housework by a few hours. The cake will need icing later, which I haven't done for 40 years so it will be messy but I've found the piping bag and nozzle. Will also have to try using the slicing machine for the freeform loaf I over-baked yesterday but all these practice runs mean we've got a lot of bread in the freezer - no bad thing - and I'm getting a much better idea on baking the stuff. At the moment I'm realising that it takes nowhere near as long to cook as all available information says and the temperature needs to be lower too.And there's tea and cake to look forward to mid-afternoon so the Flying will have to be squeezed in between dentists and cake. Maybe not such a bad day after all.Better is good enough.5

Got wordle in four, only one line on connections. Sofa covers are changed, WM whirring, admin up to date. Just having breakfast and contemplating whether to volunteer to organise a presentation evening or not, or just leave it to someone else.Spend less now, work less later.6

Oodles of posivibes heading your way, Round xx Knock ‘em dead with that cv.
While I’m sneaking back on, hugs all round, especially to Narc0 x It’s the lack of routine that frightens me about retirement. I’m sure I’ll figure it out when I have to, but needless to say, I have started a list in a rather pretty notebook of things that I can do for free, for very little cost, and at more cost. You may or may not be glad to know that Flying features on said list 😉6 -
and I'm joining the 1-line-on-Connections club - I wonder if it was the same line?
Not done wordle yet, or any other of my morning games as I had to nip to work to let someone into the co-work space. I got there as he arrived ...serendipity.
I have emptied DW, pegged washing on line for a blow, but it's back in now, though lighter, WUALTD (pet dishes currently soaking) ironed what was dried on Sunday and nipped up there *points in a vaguely north westerly direction* to buy eggs; got my friend hers, too and took about 5 empty egg boxes for re use.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hope things are going ok for you, round - lots of posivibes from me too x
(((Hugs))) to Narc0 - having to cope with so many changes in a very short period of time is not easy. I hope you can soon begin to relax and enjoy your retirement x Clearing away the self-employment paperwork is a good starting place. Don't forget to inform HMRC that you don't need to be on Self-Assessment any more - but I'm still getting reminders from them after 13 years and have just tried again to stop the emails coming!
Healing vibes to Lionel and Spam xx
I have sorted another pile of photos into relation and date order (I've finally reached my contemporaries) whilst waiting for DH to vacate his room so that I can clean it. He has just gone out to SW, so I must get on with the flying, but I need coffee and toast first. Spiders will be evicted on my way downstairs.
ETA: Whilst disturbing the spiders in the bathroom, I used Aunt Kate's head to reach up to the hidden ledge behind the frame of the mirror. Eurrrrgh!!!! Had to go downstairs to fetch the dustpan and broom, rather than wash it all down the sink which would risk causing a blockage!6 -
Walking done early as OH reckons it is going to tip it down this afternoonKitchen is doneHM soup is made, loads of veg used upIt seems I get free electricity this afternoon between 1pm and 2pm over and above what I would normally use, so all thing I normally charge at cheap rate are getting plugged in for an hour!. Hoovering, WM, AND DW are also on the3 list.My left hearing aid has died, just stopped no warning or anything, so a replacement has been ordered by the audiologist and may take up to 4 weeks to arrive, I told him, I didn't think that was good enough, so he said he would see what he can do, OH and I have offered to go where ever and collect it.Mean while I feel lop sided, sound in one ear, not in the other. it is a most odd feeling.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I have made a start on the Great Cupboard Tidy of 2024. I have started with the topmost shelf in the huge corner cupboard at the bottom of the kitchen which is the jam shelf, so the shelf below was emptied first to provide temporary jam storage, and the shelf/section have been wiped and are drying. And, as it all goes back I shall do a stocktake for ease of finding jam in the future, not least because I'm adding another dozen jars to the shelf. Found a clean Douwe Egbert jar, so that shall be added to the stash which will go to the refill shop in town, for a small credit for us and some flingage which isn't simply landfill.
Waiting to join a Teams Meeting for my little extra occasional job. And just informed Amazon that I'm not logging into my account so a login attempt has been denied, apparently.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

As well as my list today, I also dusted the living room and the flat surfaces in our bedroom so pleased with that. Have decided not to volunteer to organise the event having already organised five this year, and a sixth planned for December.
Had a look around town after dentist appointment, maybe spent a little more than I planned. Oops.Spend less now, work less later.5 -
Hello everyone. I've been AWOL for a while - partly because I spent every spare moment watching the Paralympics. The athletes are so inspirational - especially the two I saw with no arms, one who was 49, swimming using only their legs, and I think both won a medal (in different events) - incredible. I've also had a birthday so am now even older but not sure I'm any wiser! I haven't had the time to read all the posts I've missed so I hope that everyone's been ok.Today our builder/plumber/electrician came (he can do pretty much anything) and fitted a new tap as the (not very) old one was constantly needing to be tightened up where you turn the water on and off. The tap was also running very slowly when I was using the hot water. The new tap looks very nice and doesn't wobble but the hot water comes out no more quickly than with the old one. He said we need to have a pump fitted but that's a job for another day. I don't really understand it because the hot tap we had before we had the kitchen done (it was two separate taps whereas this one and the one it replaced are monoblocs) wasn't slow at all. He also replaced the on/off switch for the immersion heater.I'd vacc'd around and done a S&S in the bathroom before he came and after he'd left I did a S&S in the kitchen. I had to empty the cupboard under the sink before he fitted the tap, which was a good thing as I haven't done it for ages and it had become very untidy so I wiped down the shelves, threw away some things I know I shan't use and put things back in a more orderly fashion (I know it won't last lol). I also emptied the kitchen bin and took a bag of rubbish and one of recycling down to the bins. A now wants me to prune the stephanosis which climbs like crazy and is threatening to take over the whole room, if not the world! After that as I've already done the washing up it will be nearly time to put out A's breakfast things and meds, clean my teeth, read for a bit and go to bed.8
