This morning I have made my bed, S&S'd the bathroom, and done everything applicable off the list except for the following:
Good slug of bleach down plugholes and in overflows
Sort fridge; wash and wipe fridge shelves and baskets
Mop floor
Clean windows in both rooms [I have to leave this to K, as I can't reach up far enough]
Go round the whole house checking ceilings and corners for cobwebs - they'll be seeking shelter from the rain [I have removed evidence of their presence from the kitchen and DR and will check the other rooms as they come round]
Apart from the window cleaning and spider evictions, the rest will be done after lunch, when DH moves to the LR or mancave.
I also had a phonecall from my dearest schoolfriend LB and have arranged to visit her in October
Not a bad start to the week
(((Hugs))) and posivibes to round x
Fingers crossed for pigpen's fridge x How is Spam's wrist?
Happy hols to Fayolle x
Procrastination power to HB x
Hope your DGDs are all getting on well, Jazee x
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to anyone else who needs them xxx8 -

Batch of Twinks mixed up and shaped into blobs, boxed and ready to go into the freezer when they've chilled. Madelaine batter mixed up. That needs to rest overnight before I can blob it into the madelaine tin and some spare silicone cupcake cases, chill them again and then freeze as well tomorrow. Delia's flaky pastry made, being chilled and I'll freeze that ditto. 500g loaf in the breadmaker doing its dough thing. That'll be baked in the oven as two loaves in a bit. Last time I did that it was a big disappointment but that may have been the yeast.Nigella's coffee and walnut cake is in the oven, and just in case the bread disappointment was because the oven was overheating I checked it - bang on temperature. That's just about the easist cake I've ever made - whizz everything up in the food processor and dollop it into two sandwich tins - and it's my favourite and rarely found in shops (coffee cake, yes, but usually just with a few walnuts on top, but this has walnuts in it as well as a very rich buttercream icing) so I'm very happy. It's our lovely neighbour's 60th birthday tomorrow and after a weekend of celebrations one of her friends is taking her out for tapas tomorrow night and then on their way home there will be a surprise intervention of coffee and walnut cake with champagne here. She doesn't know, and has invited us in for tea and cake tomorrow afternoon, so it'll be a heavy cake day. Can't complain.

His poor hand though is so sore.. I suggested she cut the foot off a sock and tuck the elasticated bit inside the cast where it is rubbing and the leg up over the cast and hold it in place with a bandage.

Crawls back in. I've been vaguely and intermittently lurking but don't remember when I last posted, what I said and sorry for missing birthday wishes, spoons, hugs etc. Consider it done.
I'm gradually convincing myself that I don't need to be anxious now as Mum is in a good place with kind, professional and creative staff who look after her and make every effort to understand her individual needs. The teacher in me often wonders if they are properly teaching her to re-learn skills (yes of course they are) and the daughter misses regular phone calls (she isn't good at remembering how/when to use a phone) and the logic in me knows I will never again have the Mum I knew; the emotional me is sad about that. However all is good. Repeats: no more anxiety.
So my list for the forthcoming .....insert timescale here:
- accept that I am retired. Start thinking about voluntary work as I need to build a bit of structure in my life, after having none since May.
- ditto getting a structure of better eating and exercise as that has fallen apart since May. Am establishing a routine now of weekly Pilates x 2, gym swim x 1, aqua aerobics x 1, zumba x 1, lake swim at least x1 and I'm trying a new dance-based class (retirees need to learn a new skill apparently) on Wednesday. Oh and fitting running in somewhere.
- get back to more flying.
- do more drumming practice
- start clearing out anything I don't now need in my home office.
Today:
- went to Pilates
- did a flower arrangement with leftover flowers from the "gold" arrangement I made for a church family who are the proud parents/sisters of a gold medal-winner at the paralympics. Bless her, she got silver in Tokyo and gold in Paris.
- kitchen fairly clean and tidy but I made it even better.
- filled in yet another form needed for the pension I've been trying to claim for well over a year now.
- did a load of garden i.e. weeded and soil-conditioned front garden for some yellow-stickered dahlias and sweet williams I got at Q&B at the weekend
- rang SIL as DB is working in the Alps for a couple of weeks
- did a bit more miscellaneous admin
- drumming practiceRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all
After a weekend of volunteering (a one off thankfully) I was very tired yesterday but I did dust and hoover the LR and wash doggie blankets. Our old boy's coat is starting to smell a bit and I am paranoid about the house smelling of dog.
Working in the office today, have already done 20 minutes yoga, so shower next. It's dark and drizzling out.
DH has helpfully parked behind me on the drive even though he knew I would be out first which is very annoying!!
Have a good Tuesday all x7 -
Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, taken my meds, turned calendars over, completed Wordle, only managed one line in Connections, eaten breakfast and I'm supping a brew.
I'm taking my old cv to Toxic Towers with me and, if it's not busy, I'm going to create a new cv. The posh farm shop with cafe are advertising for an Office Administrator on Indeed. So I need to update my cv, and apply through Indeed. My understanding is that I have to set up an account with Indeed, add my cv, then I'm good to apply for jobs. No idea what today at TT will bring. And breathe....
Poor Lionel. Bless him. Hopefully you'll be able to stop the chafing. Xxx
I'm going to feed the birds, put the recycling out, and trundle off to TT. Flyladyposivibes would be very much appreciated.
Rxx
