Santander Changed My Account

  • One benefit is you can call them now to have a rant at them, before upgradeย  you would have had to wait till the morning.

    No notice absolutely nothing.
    And I noticed that the Select account is ยฃ5 a month & not ยฃ4 a month ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

    If the fee has increased to ยฃ5 it must be the Edge Up accountย 
    The only fee when you enter Santander Selectย  on line mentions a ยฃ4 fee but as the actual account is no longer available for new customersย

    I don't have an income of ยฃ5000 a month to pay in for a start.
    I also don't have savings of ยฃ75 000
    And I also did not authorise Santander to change the account without contacting me first.


    I donโ€™t believe there are any minimum deposit or balance requirements. Your account is still a 123, with a freebie bolt on called Select
  • I have been on 123 Select for years. I don't have enough income to qualify but I keep moving money around each month.ย  ยฃ4pm fee. They keep suggesting I change but I ignore it. The quick phone is useful.ย 
  • Is there such a thing as Select for joint accounts? We put a fair bit through every month and have done for years but it remains a boggo 123-Lite. Faster CS would be appreciated for the inevitable next time Santander block outgoing payments and require a phonecall to sort out.
  • I've had an email about this in the past few days and if yours is the same as mine... It's not a new account type. It's a service as it says in the first line of the email... "upgrading you to Santander Select, our premier banking service".ย ย It also says on the email about a third of the way down "There will be no changes to your existing accounts, login details or cards".ย 
    I get that it might seem less obvious if you only have 1 Santander account but I have 6 with them currently and no specific account is mentioned on my email.ย

    Our joint 123 account was Select. Well, it still is Select just not joint anymore.
    Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

    Just had an email definitely from Santander Bank saying that they have changed my 123 current account to a Select today.
    Checked online & it is now a Select account.
    I did NOT authorise this account change at all.
    I do NOT meet the criteria for this account no way !!
    Any ideas as to what is going on ??
    Santander chat are completely useless.
    Anybody have an email address for a written complaint ??


    If you check online you account will appear with its previous title and the only mention of Select is in the heading Santander Selectย

    Yes I have a joint account and Select was added to the header on the web page the actual account name doesn't change
