I actually think things do not look too bad. Perhaps cut back entertainment budget for a months to say £200 a month. If you use the Virgin media and everything keep it, especially as you are going out less!
I wouldn't worry too much about the gas and electricity especially if those amounts get you into credit for the winter months. People on here sometimes underestimate how much a typical person spends on energy.
So with a little bit of tweaking you could increase debt repayments to maybe £450 a month. Give yourself say 15 months to pay it off.
I would possibly increase holiday budget once Emergency fund is up to say £2500. We all need a break.
I assume you do not drive. Why are the £300 monthly savings not accessible? Just being curious.
Using that £300 a month in another way could make a difference to being debt free more quickly. Is that £300 for a pension payment maybe?1 -
With virgin if you are out of contract then actually leave, you have to give 28 days notice anyway where you can change your mind. But within 24 hrs of cancelling the retention team had rung me and offered it at less than what my previous offer was. It may also be worth looking at how high pace your broadband is as if it's just you then you don't need ultra fast speeds. There 100 package should be more than sufficient*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

Good suggestions thank you 👍🏻
The £300 is not totally inaccessible but it’s deliberately difficult to access. The only time I would use it would be if I had no other funds to pay my mortgage.Start Date 02-09-2024CC1 £569
