Gctt disabled parking

Evening all,

Had a Transfer to solicitor letter from gctt, unless the £197 debt is paid to them.

It was for parking in a disabled bay where it was legitimately used with a disabled person however they forgot to place the badge for viewing.

I understand from the newbies thread to ignore these letters. At what point can I not ignore them and does the fine ever increase?

Apologies if this has all been answered before, however the person in question is about to pay this even after showing them the answers.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There is no fine, just an invoice from a private parking company

The friend should be complaining about the PCN to the Landowner and getting a cancellation ASAP, plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements by coupon mad, 6 down from the top of the forum

The Equality Act 2010 applies, the law, reasonable adjustments, so a redacted picture of the blue badge should accompany the complaint

    Study this thread too

Thank you for both your replies. I have asked them to seek cancellation through email and provide proof of the badge. Will update soon.
  • In a separate circumstance in question,

I was fined myself for parking while mounted on the curb in London. It was 12am on new year's and I had left the car for approx 8 minutes to pick up some food. Came back to a fine attached to the windshield, however I was mounted as there were cars parked behind me on the closed end road and would give them enough space to pass through,

This fine has now reached £200 and have received a TE9 form. Any suggestions? I have been unable to pay via post or phone as it says it's paid however upon questioning council + gov they say it's bounced back. Any suggestions?

If its a council PCN, go over to the FTLA parking forum where they have a council section for those particular PCNs

    Kerb not curb.

The latter is a horrible Americanism!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I have now received the following email:

We are a third-party debt resolution agency, and we are unable to dispute or appeal Parking Charges here.

You were offered a twenty-eight (28) day time-frame to appeal the Parking Charge to the issuing company if this was done and rejected you would have also been given the opportunity to appeal to an independent appeals service. The case has now progressed, and the full balance is now due.

Our client maintains the correct issuing and progression of this Parking Charge and will be able to provide all necessary evidence in the case of litigation. We have placed this account on a seven (7) day hold to allow you time to make this payment. In the absence of payment in this time, this matter will continue to progress and further charges may be applied.

    Shall I continue to ignore?

    Appreciate any future replies

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collector's letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

    Obviously ignore them.

However, could you show a screenshot of the actual email with headers please (cover your and their names - if a real person has admitted to typing that drivel - and the start (first half) of both email addresses).  Show the company name at the bottom clearly.

I'd like to show that to the Government to prove yet again that the DRA industry lied and/or misled the DLUHC Select Committee about operating 'debt resolution'.
