Thankyou.
Exactly what I wanted to show to the MHCLG to support my opinion that some in the industry were ... economical with the truth ... when addressing the DLUHC Select Committee about CCJs and 'debt' recovery that they wrongly call 'enforcement'.
They said that "CCJs are a last resort". The evidence and ludicrously high annual claim numbers (OVER A THIRD, MAYBE CLOSER TO HALF OF ALL SMALL CLAIMS ARE NOW PARKING CLAIMS) proves otherwise.
IMHO they appear to have misled or even lied. I believe it is in the public interest that motorists on this forum (and the MHCLG) hear this opinion and look at the evidence.
They told the Committee that what the DRAs do is 'debt resolution' which helps the public. LOL! This is not 'debt resolution'.
This isn't a 'service'.
This is not a model for which there should be any added 'fee' which in fact funds the first resort pathway they seek: victims paying an extortionately inflated sum out of fear & hundreds of thousands more suffering CCJs.
All of it lining the pockets of the third party bulk-intimidating, bulk-litigating 'DRAs'.Enriching them doesn't assist the public and doesn't support proper parking management, either. This is the WORST aspect of the whole 'scam' operation.
The DRA sub-industry is out of control.
The easy, lucrative bulk route to court - which only exists in the parking industry and is not seen in any other trader/consumer contract situation - must be stopped in its tracks.
It must be replaced by late evaluation by a proper CTSI certificated ADR (obviously not the IAS) plus a ban on added fees.

I think you've missed a 'y' off the end of 'lad' there!ajsavings25 said:Unstoppable with you at the front line ladPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Usually would've paid the fine by now tbh, so thank you to this community for educating the unknown1 -
Hang in there AJ. The guys (and gals) here know what they are talking about. Worse case scenario you end up owing them what they claim you owe them. The point is it is morally unjust and in my opinion, very, very UN-BRITISH!
Also it's NOT A FINE! It's an INVOICE! One way to wind up the members here is constantly calling it a fine!
