So from what I understand, they key points to remember are:
    1. Do not send them an updated address until I leave the UK
    2. Wait until towards the end of the 30 days extension
    3. Do not send it after the 30 days are up

However, I received this email 3 weeks ago so am already on day 21/30 (it didn't show up in my inbox and I only found it after manually searching for the reply).

Therefore, when I move in 2/3 weeks time (minimum as visa issues could delay), it will be way past the 30 day extension.

Given this, what would be the best course of action for me?

Do I message them within the 30 day period, letting them know I will be moving, despite still being in the UK?

Or do I wait until I am out the UK, even if it exceeds the 30 day extension, before telling them about the move?

Thank you so much everyone for all your advice so far.

No you tell them before the 30 days and give them your new address- but you need to word as its your new address- not going to be , but is now

I don't have a new address there yet though - my work will put me in a hotel for a month initially and thereafter I will move into my own accommodation.

I do however have family there already - could I just provide their address?

I tried registering for an account on their portal but was given this error message on registration: 'Account entered is not enabled for registration. You can still Make a Payment or Contact Us instead'.

Should just replying to their email suffice?

Just get it done but I suggest you run it by us first. I did explain you must attach some proof that you live or work there (maybe your work contract/letter?) and exactly how to word the email.

    As ChirpyChicken rightly said:

DO NOT SAY THIS 'WILL BE' YOUR ADDRESS. DO NOT GIVE A START DATE.
    IT IS YOUR ADDRESS 'NOW'.

If you do that wrong, you will give them a window to file a claim. Nonono.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you, I will run it by you guys first.

With regards to my proof that I live/work there, would a picture of my personal ID / visa card suffice? TBH, both my work contract and ID / Visa cards are pretty personal pieces of information that I would rather not share with these companies, but I am trying to work out what would be the best proof of address/work to provide them, whilst giving as little as possible away.

Don't worry about sharing such stuff.  They really won't care ! Or be interested in that sense.
