I have a more serious problem now. Mywatts is only showing half-hourly readings for one or two days a week since June 1st, and they're showing as estimated for last Sunday and Monday. My HH readings had been rock solid until this happened.1 -

If you can then this would suggest a TE problem, rather than with the meter or DCC system.
More examples of TE struggling to master the basics?1 -

The problem is that yes, if folk were here hoping for Tomato to fail that would be an issue - because being SOLR'd especially from a supplier with very favourable pricing that customers may have come to rely on is a pain in the backside, and can also cause financial problems for the less wary. However, every bit as bad is people trying to counter that by a gung-ho toxic positivity approach, essentially gaslighting people to feel that they should not be complaining about things that yes, actually, they SHOULD complain about!
My view is that it should not - and indeed does not - take a winding up petition to encourage a responsible and honourable business to pay their bills, and so I'm afraid I take a dim view on companies who feel that they can literally not bother to pay their dues until the 11th hour - as this often DOES cost us all more money. Not paying HMRC for example - we all get hit with the costs of HMRC then having to try to take whatever steps are needed to prise the money owed out of them! Sure, Tomato might well save me money - even compared with Agile - but at the end of the day I have personal standards about what sorts of businesses I want to deal with, and right now, they're not meeting those standards!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Phoned Tomato regarding not having received my bill for June. Answered the phone quickly and passed my request to the billing team. An accurate Bill duly arrived 2hours later.3

I'm not going to be so proactive asking for my final bill

Shedman said:Anyone know how to coerce Tomato into submitting the opening reading (closing reading for old supplier) for validation. My stepdaughter has got over £100 credit with Octopus and left nearly 6 months ago. Multiple emails have been sent to Octopus who are sympathetic but say they can't do anything until the reading gets validated and they issue the final bill (she has had the £40 delay comp credited by Octopus btw...should she claim the extra £40 for payment delay as they just credited it to her Octopus account rather than paid out to her bank account?). It is frustrating as its just one days use probably 6-7 kWH or about £1.50 and she could do with money back. Emails have also been sent to Tomato but no response and no action (very surprising I know...). I guess she needs to submit a formal complaint and then after the 8 weeks take it to the Ombudsman?2

Still no follow up from my original reply on the late final bill, I just sent an email reminder, as I had almost forgot.0 -
Newbie_John said:Good Energy has 2 interesting smart tarriffs:
-8p a night (it doesn't need EV, it says you may need EV to get most of it)
-12p between 5-9am and 13-16:00
But the interesting part is this bit:Good to know
You'll need a working smart meter that sends half-hourly meter readings - we can connect to most smart meters installed from 2019 onwards. Once signed up we'll review your meter and let you know when we've successfully connected to it, or fix it if there are any problems. This may take up to 2 weeks.
So just like Tomato, they dont say directly we don't accept SMET1 but only support limited meters.
It is good you sharing alternatives with us thank you as I am looking to leave Octopus soon. You have shown some interesting tariffs showing there is some options even if they are a bit more expensive than lifestyle.
Also getting a new CAD, seems they finally in stock, so free's my shackles of the Octopus mini as well.0 -
