Still haven't received an email, so no idea if I was in or out of the scheme. Not a big deal, as the unit price was only 3 or 4 pence.0

0.9 kWh used here. Washing machine and dishwasher.
And it was all in the first half hour as the sun came out around half past.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -
I wonder how it worked out for Octopus. Real time prices either side of the 1-2pm slot were negative but between 1 and 2pm shot up to £85/MWh.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0

Probably about 15p saved. 😁PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0

Tweaking battery mode I probably made 75p by exporting earlier in the day, then topping up with hopefully free power for an hour. Also ran the immersion which will have saved a few pence worth of oil.
There's not the same incentive as the Saving Sessions.1 -

As you say, the incentive is less than the savings sessions but it strikes me as being less effort to participate and also a more sustainable scheme as there isn't much (or any?) scope for gaming.
Hopefully the offer of free electricity every now and then will encourage a few more customers with reservations about smart meters to get one. Somehow the idea of free electricity sounds simpler and more appealing than the switch down and save scheme.
This is why I'm an Octopus customer - I can forgive them for the occasional bout of so-so service in return for this kind of innovation.0 -
A saving is a saving.I charged the batteries, charged the EV, ran the diswasher and did a cleaning cycle on the washing machine.1

Didn't get a conformation email, and Sis turned up at 15:30 to plug her car in. Down about £1.60 so far.
Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
I put our oven on for a self-clean for the very first time ever during the 1 hour slot - I just wanted to see whether it really worked. Answer: kind of.
But, my wife had put the EV on to charge, and we got an Intelligent Octopus Go smart charge over the same hour period.
I presume their reconciliation will know to credit at 7p and not a the SVT rate.0
