Lab grown diamond engagement ring vs natural?

I bought it myself and it was a suprise, but required a bit of set up:
- Told her that my sister was getting married, but couldn't decide on an engagement ring. We then browsed through engagement rings which gave me lots of valuable insight because she'd say things like "well I think that one's nice, but I don't know if your sister will like it?"
- Bought a ring-sizer as I told her I was thinking about getting a smart ring. When it arrived I mentioned about how cool it would be if we got matching smart rings and measured her fingers, of course she was like "I don't need a smart ring" but as I'm big into tech I was insisting "at least let me see if they do your size".
When I did eventually propose she was genuinely not expecting it, and the ring was perfectKnow what you don't0 -

We agreed to get married and decided to spend money on a long honeymoon.I promised to make the ring but only found somewhere I could easily get to outside of work just before covid (and after 2 moves).I clearly misunderstand what eternity rings are as well.
*I also don't agree with the US trend of upgrading the ring, I think an engagement ring is a sign of what you both were at that point. But by all means have more rings in your collection.0 -
I’ve been so torn with options given the difference in price and quality! But I think it really helped to have a trusted jeweller show you all options and give you sound advice based on your needs and goal.My fiance and I were really lucky to find a reliable Jeweler in London who gave us all the information without being pushy.Jay Nick London in Hatton Garden - in case it helps somebody else. We got great quality and value for our money.-1

@keenbean08
What made you decide to do business with this company instead of any other?
How did you know he was 'trusted'?
What ring did you choose?

Let her choose.... you dont need a ring when you propose.... after she says yes, discuss & let her choose...

Before anyone else chips in, this question was asked back in August I strongly suspect the OP is sorted by now.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Just to update all, I am indeed sorted! My now fiance sent me the ring she loved and I had it imported from New York. It was in my budget but actually a sapphire as she preferred that to a diamond. I proposed at a getaway pre-Xmas via a scavenger hunt that included a video from Spike from Buffy for her (she loves that show and him in particular).
We're getting married in September. Thanks for the input!8 -

Glad you decided to ask her what she wanted.
An engagement ring doesn't have to be a diamond.
Congratulations and best wishes. 🎉1
