Get a cat.  My cat is well fed at this time of year as she potters around the house hunting any spiders that manage to sneak in.

BFC spotted a spider the other night. Spent 20 minutes "hunting" it before pouncing. Just chewed it up a bit and left the dead corpse on the rug.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

We've always had the normal big house spiders which come in every autumn. However, this year there are loads of those Cellar or Daddy long legs spiders with the little tiny bodies and great big long legs. They seem to be in the corners of every room and the garage and sheds and even the loft are full of them. I took the kitchen plinth off and there was half a dozen under there.

Never had them before so I don't know why there's suddenly so many of them.

We collect conkers, strew them around, especially in corners. We still have the occasional spider.

I tried chestnut-based spider spray, horse chestnuts, electronic spider-repellant gadgets, and nothing made the slightest difference.  The large house spiders, tegeneria gigantica, live between your ceiling and the upper floorboards, so I sealed every possible crack around lights and fans in the ceiling, using stick-on draught excluder, and it worked. I didn't use actual sticky sealant around electrical fittings in case of shock. There might be some living below floorboards, too, so seal there, too, where pipes come up, or around the skirting boards.

I swear by a few drops of Peppermint oil in a spray bottle with water.
I have a massive fear of spiders, and an allergy to them.
I ended up in hospital a few years ago for 5 days with a spiderbite. Hooked up to an IV of antobiotics and had to have the wound washed out.   I was already scared of them before then, after the bite I've no nerve for them at all.  I break out i a sweat, cry and have been known to sleep in another room if one is found on the bedroom.
I'm currently in the middle of decluttering the house as spiders like dark messy areas, and as I declutter and clean, I'm wiping down the boards with peppermint oil and water, and along the ceilings and donw the door frames etc are sprayed with the same solution.
It has worked for a few year now, so hopefully it continues, especially a sthe spiders are getting bigger in size!

It's all well and good people "recommending" doing courses and overoming a fear... until you have such a fear you can't "reccommend or advise" that to a phobic.  There is no chance in hell I will be doing any such course.. I don't care how good spiders are....if they come near me, then they will be killed.  Simple as that.

To effectively reduce spiders in your home, it's crucial to remove their hiding spots and food sources. Start by decluttering areas like basements, attics, and garages where they tend to live. Regular cleaning is essential—vacuuming corners, ceilings, and any webs you find.

If you're dealing with a more persistent issue, our ozone treatment can help. Ozone not only disinfects and removes odors but also eliminates small insects and pests that attract spiders. By reducing their food sources, ozone makes your space less appealing to spiders.

What a load of [redacted]. Ozone can damage your lungs as well as leading to a variety of respiratory problems. There is no scientific proof that ozone removes odours or eliminates spider & other insects.

This (new) user's posts all look very oddly-worded.  I know next to nothing about such things, but could it be one of those AI-Bot thing-a-me-jigs ?
