If you have a phobia of spiders, and many people do, then I would see if you can seek help overcoming it as you will never be able to eradicate spiders in your house.

Spiders are good for the planet, they will be more scared of you than you will be of them. I never had a phobia but I used to dislike spiders, now they don't bother me at all and I even pick them up to move them out the way if they are in the bath for example.

Maybe you've never found one behind your neck, in which case maybe you would be less willing to cohabiting with them.
  • Best method of getting rid of spiders is a decent small hand held vacuum cleaner. Ours has a clear perspex waste container so when you collect them you can watch them spinning around before you switch off. So....spot them, suck up with vac and empty outside. Job done.

Note: I think it's currently breeding season so if you spot one it's probably looking for a mate.

Spiders like clean houses so if you have them your house is probably to clean.

    Probably.

There's a whole planet that they can use. Even without going too far they are free and welcome to use the garden (where I wouldn't even dream to disturb them). At home spiders are not allowed !! It's not asking too much.

Nature to nature, home to owner.

? Behind your neck? Is this some kind of Alien / Exorcist sequel?

    Hi,
does anyone know of products that work against spiders?
Spray, powder, anything, as long as they won't come back anymore.

    Thanks

The only thing that worked was sealing all the gaps they can get in. When I first moved into my house there were so many huge house spiders just appearing all the time, to the point where I didn't want to live here.
I found out they were coming in the gas fire and I sealed it up and no more spiders. Find where they are coming in and seal it and you will get rid of them.

You won't get rid of the smaller ones, they just get in somehow, but you can reduce the amount.

Btw,I still won't clean behind the toilet because there was a house spider there 2 years ago and I will never forget 🤣🤣

I'm quite fond of the spiders in our house, (old Victorian).  Mostly I leave them be.  I have evicted a number of large house spiders, (the ones that appear in autumn) by sticking a glass tumbler over them, then sliding a piece of card underneath, and dropping them outside the back door.

Finding that spider behind my neck wasn't pleasant,  I can assure you.
It also made me reconsider my love for animals.

I haven't had a spider on my neck but I did have a cockroach which was about 3 inches long on my back once when on holiday in Sri Lanka. Give me a harmless house spider any day of the week.
