  • Used mine again today. 15% discount in mountain warehouse v 10% black Friday code.

Not used the card much but it's easily paid for itself overall.

I’ve had my card about three months now and haven’t yet found an occasion where the Blue Light Card gave a better discount than was being offered anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️
So disappointing, so far, for me but it’ll only take one success to recoup the cost of the card so 🤞🏻

Virtually same story to be honest. But, saved an extra £5 on airport parking v the best deal I could find and an extra £4 on ski wear at mountain warehouse. Also saved in a pub chain but have no idea what other deals were around.
  • Just a reminder that as well as online vouchers, BLC gives discounts in person. I’ve used it recently to get discounted annual gym membership, via the Council network which is good but also inexpensive.

It’s also worth asking at places like art galleries and museums, even if they don’t advertise it. OH is in the 60-67 grey (literally!) area so my usual spiel is “Does 60+ count for a concession, or NHS?”. I think the last place put us both through as ‘seniors’.

Had mine about six weeks, not used in person or for online discounts, but have tied it to my Asda Rewards so get a few pennies return on some items, not a fortune but pennies make pounds eventually

They don't seem to publicise very well what is on offer.

Deals are often complicated as well. 4% off at screwfix, but it requires buying a voucher and paying instore. Our nearest shop often doesn't have stock and they will order it in, but it has to be paid online. You can't use the voucher for that.

It depends what marketing you sign up for, I get a weekly offers email as a minimum and the app on my tablet shows notifications. But what prompts me to use it is that I use it more than I ever have other reward/discount cards, so it’s automatic to check BLC first.

Just thinking about getting stamps for Christmas cards. Is there a clever way to get stamps a bit cheaper using the Blue light card that anybody has thought of?
  • Possibly if you buy vouchers for a supermarket and buy stamps at the kiosk or till and pay using the vouchers.

You'll need to buy the vouchers up front using a debit card. Don't use a credit card as they'll be considered a cash advance and you'll be charged fees. From memory it's a 3.5% saving at Tesco for example.

    Hope that helps.
