    I'm sure it will do.
    Maybe not
Their website says teachers are eligible to join, no mention of the many other (more numerous and generally far lower paid) support staff who also work in schools.
Presumably evidence of the job role is required to make sure the offer is restricted only to teachers.
It states "Teaching and supporting staff" in the eligibility criteria.

    Thank you - I stand corrected…

In which case, I don’t understand why they want evidence of the job role 🤷🏻‍♀️

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

Many schools issue sixth form students or volunteers with ID cards. So I would imagine evidence of job role prevents signups from anyone with a school id card who is not actually employed by the school.

Ahh yes, of course - and students (of all ages) would also have school email addresses, as might some school governors and staff working for 3rd party contractors etc

Well my card is now active. I see I can buy vouchers for supermarkets at a 3.5% discount.

The membership fee will be reclaimed in less than a fortnight! But annually I'm looking at saving over £150 just from my weekly shop alone.

And @[Deleted User] if you are eligible m&s vouchers give a 6% saving!
  • Oh update......and not necessarily good news. If you buy the vouchers using a credit card it looks like they may be treated as cash advances and incur a 3% fee.

I can't confirm this as yet, but am looking into it further. If anyone has any experience of this please provide any info you may have.

Yes never buy vouchers or currency exchange with a credit card as its treated as a cash advance
  • Unless you buy them at a checkout. Very strange as it's not as if you can exchange them for cash. (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

No idea not tried it but if you are at a supermarket checkout and add a gift card to your groceries the bank wouldn't know its a gift card

Another offer at the moment for anyone working in the NHS, care sector or armed forces is for a free basic will and you don't need a blue light card to qualify - just proof of occupation.

BLC is very worthwhile. We’ve had significant discounts on Garmin and Siemens and there was recently a 9% discount on Sainsbury’s gift card. You do have to scroll through the brands that discount everywhere - has anyone in the world ever bought Fitflops full price? There’s a deal on Vision Express where you can have a free eye test and extra discount on specs so long as you order on the day of test.

I will miss it when I retire, I won’t be eligible again until I commence my NHS pension.

TUI do a better deal for NHS but you have to go through your email address.
