Blue Light Card

Just to let everyone know that those of us still in the teaching profession now have access to The Blue Light Card scheme.

It is £4.99 for 2 years and having had a quick look at the offers once I'd signed up, I have to say it looks well worth the money.

     Its here https://teachers.bluelightcard.co.uk/

hubby tried to register but it obviously wants proof if job role. Which he might not be able to provide because it wants a payslip with his job role on it!

They want paying before they make a decision on eligibility

  • I'm sure it will do.
  • What sort of discounts does it give?  No examples that I can find until you sign up.

I signed up about 2 years ago and I've definitely had my 4.99 back :)
It's a real mixture on there and things come and go. It's usually about 10-20% off stuff - I've had money off Crocs, AO, Boots, Blackwells and Booking.com. They used to give money off Asda but not sure if it's still the case and tbh it was a bit of a faff so I never tried the Asda discount. I just find that if I'm intending to buy something, it's usually worth having a look to see if the retailer is on there and using the link.
There are also items such as days out and restaurants on there.

Now you have to link your BLC to the Asda Rewards app so it is automatic - scan the rewards app at checkout.  Discount has reduced from 10% off shop to 10% Asda £s on selected range to now 5% Asda £s on reduced selected range - meat, bakery, fruit & veg

I've had £100 off a TUI holiday twice, 20% off carvery meals and discounted Oakley sunglasses.

There are fairly chunky discounts available on Garmin products, and I understand you can get 1000s off a new car, but I haven't tried either of these.
