NatWest Online Login 2FA

For the last few days, every time I log in to NatWest online I get the following message. 

Help us stop fraud

To keep your account safe, we'll send you a one time passcode to your mobile device so you can access Online Banking.We'll contact you via your mobile device whenever we think anything is unusual, you're logging in from somewhere new or using a new device.

Before this month I only got this message 2 or 3 times a year. As far as I am aware, I am not doing anything different. 

Has any one else noticed this changing in the last few days?

    What are you using to log in?  Phone? Tablet? Laptop? Browser? App?

    Are you using a VPN or Private Relay?

    I get this with NatWest on the very rare times I log in to it online, rather than app, PC (same I have had for 7 years), Firefox, normal internet connection

    When I say online, I mean on a browser. It is both on a laptop using Chrome and iPad using Safari.

    Yes, I understand it happening when logging in infrequently but it is now happening every time with me.

    I am just wondering whether NatWest have changed their security protocols.

    Not seeing this with RBS (on Chrome).  Curious you are seeing on Chrome and Safari on different devices.  That does imply it could be something curious about your internet connection.   Is your router on a stable IP address?

    I am also getting the same issue on RBS. My IP address does appear to be stable with my current router connection time showing as 15 days.
