Daytime usage I usually leave it outside the drive I was very excited and it very tired getting up so early to go on holiday packng the car.  I have got a neighbour who says she is sure it was on the drive she can't guarantee it because she wasn't really looking she was just putting my bins back but she said she thinks it was. I've got a friend who had to post I let her through my letterbox he says he is 100% sure it was on the drive he had to walk past it.

My friend had to post something through my letterbox that he borrowed from me and I needed for when I got back he said my vehicle was definitely on my drive, I'm just concerned that these are not classed as in partial Witnesses

I really don't think you should worry unduly about where it was stolen from, be it roadside or driveway.  The question on the policy application normally asks where the car is usually parked.

Taking a step back from some of the rather excited posts.

This may not matter at all or it might invalidate your claim. It all depends what you answered when you took out the policy and what the policy says (if anything) about how long a car can be unattended.

First things first,  report the theft to the police if you haven't already.

Now speak to your insurance company and see what they say. After that if you need any more advice then tell us exactly what they say.

Scary that someone can not remember if their car was parked on drive or not..
Never came out of a large retail centre and wondered "where is it" ?
I just simply can't remember my insurance States it should be parked on my drive between 10 o'clock at night and 6:00 a.m. so most days I just leave it on the road beside the drive and park it on the drive at night. And should be honest I've lost my vehicle  a large car park  especially blue water.

I was 100% honest with my insurance and told them I fought it was on my drive but possibly on the road
Don’t think it’s down to where it was parked - as @tacpot12 has said you need to be honest with insurance company about where it’s ‘usually parked’ which would have formed the basis of your cover. If you said it was usually on the drive, but it was in the street, not sure if that impacts upon any claim? Happy to be corrected on this. Out of interest, why wasn’t it on the drive when you left home?
It will simply raise questions as to why it wasnt parked on the driveway if thats where it is usually parked and maybe further Qs to try and establish if it really is "usually" parked there or not.

The fact the OP doesn't remember suggests it isn't something that is too uncommon otherwise it'd stick in the memory that, for example, you have a skip on the driveway and hence temporarily needing to park on the road.

Someone I know has an expensive Mercedes suv and told his insurance co it was always parked in the garage which is in fact way too small for the car. Not sure how he would stand if it’s stolen off the driveway overnight?
A former client did some analysis on theft at home claims where it was declared the car was usually garaged... about 20% of the customers didnt even have a garage let alone all those that the garage is too full of junk to be used to store a car.
Indeed. Usually is the key to this, plus the value of the claim may influence how closely they look into it.

You must however see that it looks really odd if the car is "usually" kept in the driveway but was left on the road while you are away on holiday!
I had had a couple of G&Ts getting into the spirit of the holiday. My partner was driving her car. I was busy loading the car in a very happy holiday mood
I am sure it was on the drive why would I leave it on the street if I'm going on holiday it just doesn't make sense. When I made my initial phone call to the insurance company I was honest and I said I can't actually remember if it was on the drive or on the road outside the drive.  Maybe I'm too honest for my own good I should have said it was on drive. I simply can't remember and was honest with the insurance company. Day to day usage is just easier to leave it on the curb next to the drive evenings or last use of the vehicle for the day I pop it on the drive. I was jet lagged had a sleeping pill on the aeroplane and a couple of drinks of course the Mrs was driving, I simply cannot remember whether it is on the drive are on the street next to it ,my mind was on other things, when I got back I noticed it missing and was honest with the insurance.

You can't unwind the conversation you already had with the insurer, so there's no point in getting yourself worked up about it now IMHO, just wait and see what their next steps are and take it from there....
