It looks like the deadline is 29th July for paying the court fee, I can't see the deadline for sending a witness statement though, I'll have to have a thorough re read of the court letter0
-
The information is definitely on that court order, a typical deadline will be 2 or 4 weeks before the hearing date, for both sides, it's not a date as such, you have to work it out from the information1
-
Okay that makes sense, I think it says I must submit my evidence more than 10 days before the court date so that would be mid August0
-
10 days would be an unusual number, 14 days before would be my marker if that's the wording on the order
You could easily post a picture of that section0 -

Yep I found it, no later than 14 days before the hearing, so that would be the 12th of August. I guess that I should wait for the court fee deadline before writing a witness statement?1

Hi all, contacted the county court today as the deadline to pay the trial fee was yesterday. They have told me that claimant has discontinued the case! What a relief! Once the NoD comes I can share a picture, massive thanks for all the advice, encouragement and guidance from the veterans here on the forum, I'm so grateful!5

Coupon-mad said:This is easy and there will be no hearing.
1. You defend, following all advice in the NEWBIES thread
2. DCB Legal contact you, offering lower settlement sums, which you ignore
3. DCB Legal discontinue the claim in 2025, because they aren't seeking hearings against well-informed Defendants
4. Scam over. No hearing; no costs.HondaJohn said:Hi all, contacted the county court today as the deadline to pay the trial fee was yesterday. What a waste of your time and court time.
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!
You won the battle. But what about the war?
If you want to be part of the push to change things in future, it's very important that people like you join us to reply to the new Public Consultation, to tell the Government NOW that:
a) you have no faith in POPLA or the IAS and that there must be the SINGLE APPEALS SERVICE that the Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019 *almost* promised. As long as it is independent (and only ONE appeals service, not two involved in a race to the bottom) that will give a real option to resolve disputed cases out of court.
b). THAT THE ENRICHMENT OF 'DEBT RECOVERY FEES' MUST BE COMPLETELY BANNED. DISPUTED CASES ARE NOT SOLVED BY A THUG THIRD PARTY DEMANDING MORE MONEY AND ENGINEERING A POINTLESS 'PAYMENT PLAN'.
c). Tell them about your experience and that your case proceeded to a claim precisely because (a) and (b) above mean there is no option, no safeguard for consumers EXCEPT court. And it took a year!
Responses are invited to the Consultation now:
