Could somebody please tell me which form they are using to close an Everyday Saver. The only form I can find on VM's website is for current account closure.
    Worked for me (eventually).

Empty your account and then fill in https://uk.virginmoney.com/vmforms/current-accounts/account-closure-request/

Ignore the fact that it mentions it's for current accounts.

VM will close your account, though it may take a week or more..

I used the form and gave my account number. I chased it and there was no sign of the request
Do yourself a favour and phone them up, it's the only way to be sure. Phone wait was short and the CSR was very familiar with the process

On the other hand, I filled in the form on the day before I went on holiday. It took a few days for them to action. Beats spending time phoning even if the wait time isn't too bad.

I have tried Live Chat twice and got contradicting information, first person pointed me to the current account form and the second one said you can't close the account online.
If you want some extra free money you could raise a complaint (and get your account closed in the process).

It worked for me  £££

Thank you for all the replies.

I have made a complaint regarding conflicting information given and I will give them a ring.

I find using any chat frustrating when talking to a bot but I thought I stood a chance when speaking to a human  :(

I'm still waiting for my Everyday Saver to be closed and interest received after filling in the form on August 1st and raising a complaint. Last Wednesday I was offered compensation and eventually told the account would be closed on Wednesday, after originally being wrongly told it had already been closed. Then I got an email on Saturday to say they were now looking into my complaint! I replied to say that it was supposedly already resolved, and gave the name of the complaint handler, but nothing has happened. I received a slightly stroppy reply yesterday from the complaint handler to say it would take up to 10 working days and she would action it this week. She had already told me she actioned it last week! The complaint handler is just as frustrating as the rest of them. 16 days and still no joy.

I have just got off the phone with Virgin Money, it was the third attempt because I got cut off on the first two as soon as I said I wanted to close an account.

I received a reply to my compaint via secure messaging which ignored the complaint and told me to ring then to close the account, once I got through to close the account I also raised a complaint about the complaint and everything else that was wrong.

My wife has just used the closure form so we will see if that works but I'm not holding my breath going on bioboybill's experience.

51 pages of people losing their jobbies over £20?

Just leave it until end September then move the money out manually.
Indeed, there must be more to it than the lost interest on £18-20 for a month.

Closing matured accounts/ tying up loose ends seems to be the main motivation behind all these comments.
