    I read this as
    1. The old system has a 5 KW export
    2. New system - generation capacity of 5KW and zero export(permission to install 5KW generation capacity)

    System 1 - 14 x 250W SunModule SW + Enphase ME215 microinverters (July 2015)
    System 2 - 9.2 KWp + Enphase IQ7+ and IQ8AC (Feb 22 & Sep 24) + Givenergy AC Coupled inverter + 2 * 8.2KWh Battery (May 2022) + Mitsubishi 7.1 KW and 2* Daikin 2.5 KW A2A Heat Pump

I don't think that is what the OP thinks they have applied to their DNO for, but they don't seem willing to offer clarification.

hi back again, my understanding is the MCS installer applies to the DNO, prior to the installation (unless under 3.6ish kW) or am I mistaken, hope so it's going on Friday🙂

Yes, you must have permission from the DNO to connect any generating equipment with capacity over 3.6kW before the work begins. It does not matter who applies for permission, you or the installer, but you must have that permission before work begins.

I'm pretty sure the G.99 application asks for details of any existing generation.

I disagree.  You were accepted onto the Octopus tariff for your existing solar system and would have had to provide them with details of the MCS accreditation.  If you are adding more panels you ought to tell Octopus.

Also, "a new 5kW dno permit" surely just allows you to export 5 kW?  You need a 10 kW DNO permit to cover your total export.
I asked octopus about an export limit in terms of numbers of KW or KWH and their answer was there is no limit.

My plan is to charge batteries on the 7p rate and export during the day for 15p.

Green and ethically I'll be exporting between 7-9am and 3:30 and 7:30pm

I also plan to export all my solar
    West central Scotland
    4kw sse since 2014 and 6.6kw wsw / ene split since 2019
24kwh leaf, 75Kwh Tesla and Lux 3600 with 60Kwh storage

Charging the batteries and exporting would get you 8p per kWh per day (ignoring any "round trip" losses).  And you have 60 kWh of usable storage?  If so that would get you £4.80 per day or £1753.2 per year.  But the batteries and the inverter controlling them must have cost a fair bit so I wonder how many years at £1753.2 would cover that cost?

hi update reply from Octopus via email,
"Once the installation is complete, make sure to obtain the following documents from you MCS installer,

Export MPAN, MCS Certificate, Letter from the DNO (also known as G99/G98)

0nce you have these documents please email them to us to review the information and advise the outcome and next steps"

This was sent from my account,so they are aware that I already export, I am sure they would have had a look at my details before replying?( or maybe not)

    ps
Phone call from Installer today, roofer has fallen from ladder, may be a delay.....get well soon
