    Opened Friday.
    No Bank Card Still
    No Bank Transfers in app allowed too
    £10 overdraft, not allowed the free £500 one on Premier.
    Defo an account to open, bank the 175 and run
  • Looking to make this switch. Just set up a new DD - showing on current accountbjt first paymrnt wont actually bemade until August. Should i wait until that DD has paid out or will it be ok to switch now do you think? 

    You shouldn't have to wait until the DD has paid out before switching

    Tried to create an account and for the first time ever it says “couldn’t verify ID” and I have to book an appointment in person! Done switches with every bank and never seen this before. Hope I still get the switch money…

    You can re-apply by removing and reinstalling the app, but will likely end with the same result.  I found applying via the website works better.  Each time I've applied that way, they've asked me questions about my credit record, which aren't always easy to answer as many on here will appreciate (e.g. asked me what bank I'd applied for a credit card with in the past 3 months, but I'd actually applied for 2 on the list).  However, as mentioned in an earlier post, I get a message saying they can't complete my application online and will review it within 5 working days, followed by a text a day or 2 later saying my new card is now active.

    How? You can't! Are you sure you have the right bank?

    Unless I've missed that we're now talking about a different bank on the Barclays thread then, yes, I have the right bank..
    Do you mean how can you reinstall the app?  Or how can you apply online?

    How can you apply online?! Its not possible!

    All in all a terrible experience from a terrible bank. I hope theres a better offer along soon.

    It has worked twice for me, despite having those documents and a UK mobile.

    Thanks for your reply and help. I already have so I understand my post may have come across as kind of negative but Ive never had anything like this happen before. The comments that you highlighted never seemed to address anything about it being app only either but thats just what Ive gleaned from the offer details on here. I have since deleted the app as I couldnt progress any further without a visit (no reason except for ID). Not sure if I could even apply online if the app application was left in limbo. Anyone else applied online this way after an ID verification decline on app?

    My OH has opened a new Barclays current account with the switch completion date of 16 July.  However, the App no longer works, it just pops up with an error code.  And there's been no confirmation text or email to say the switch has indeed completed. 
    OH has deleted the App and reloaded it, but to login  it asks for the PIN no., but  OH has no idea what the PIN no. was.
    Don't Barclays post the PIN a few days after the bank card, anymore?

    Yes. Have tried twice now, and failed each time. Despite being a dinosaur and living in my current cave for more than a decade, it says it can't verify my ID (used my driving licence and had to do a video looking to the right and repeating some numbers) and that I have to visit a branch, which I am unable to do.     ... me too ... tried several times on Tuesday (9th Jul) with my driving licence for my ID. Each time after the photo/video/audio/numbers live check I got 'Document not accepted' 'We're sorry but we can't accept this document. Please try again with a different ID'. I don't have any other (passport or the biometric ID) ... and that's where my problems began.

    The only option available was 'I do not have ID', this presented a list of documents for personal ID and one for address verification. I chose my state pension award letter for 2024/2025 for the ID as it is a 'benefit' and my council tax assessment letter for my address. Note: These were the only two documents that I could use as the lists included 'paper driving licence' (abolished in 2016), bills, statements and obscure documents ... of course I don't receive paper bills or statements. I then arranged an appointment in branch.
     My Driving licence was rejected first time and it said try a different ID. I just ignored this and tried the driving licence again. 2nd time it worked. I think it's just fussy with the quality of video and images of the ID. Instead of telling you to us a different ID it should just ask you to try again. I have had similar issues with Chase which sometimes requires 3 -5 attempts.

    Going around in circles!! Everything says you must open an account in the app but the app doesn't have anywhere to select 'Open An Account'.  The app won't let me register without an account 😑 and won't let me open an account.
    Total waste of time
    It asks if you  have an account or if you are a 'new customer' at the very start. I did it al in 10 mins. It was very easy. It did refuse my Driving ID first time but I just tried again and it was ok.
