Sounds like a good plan. It gets easier once you have less creditors as more can go towards one and you start to see it going down quickerbiggerpickle said:@Sarahwithlove - Ive actually done that, ones next payment will be £63 so rounding to a fixed £65, for about 7 months, the other just under £20 so fixing at that for about 4 months.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7000

Debt just keeps on giving doesn't it?! Naffwest still haven't fixed the 0% interest rate issue on the 2nd balance transfer I did with them so now have interest on that card after thinking I'd cracked the debt plan only the other day.
Not sure I can face the hours on the phone to sort it again so think am just going to do another 0% BT to another card and close naffwest completely. Also means I can shift the Hfax interest bearing balance if I can get a £3k deal. Balance transfers sorted - i now have two 0% fee / 0% interest accounts until next autumn, hoping to have 80% of debt cleared by then so kicked the next 0% need down the line which is brilliant and after October this year when bitty debts sorted, I can just leave those 2 running with fixed payment amounts and lots less monthly plate spinning.July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1650

Really kicking myself doing that blowout yet seriously underwhelming £150 treat lunch on payday as I've had to pull back money from savings that am desperately trying to rebuild fur the next service charge bill (and anything else).
Also irrationally wound up that teenmonster#2 has lost his zip card and TfL have increased the replacement charge, its been £10 for years and now its £11.
I have a big weekend away coming up that I know is going to demolish the rest of this month's savings, and probably more. Apart from hotel and train tickets that are already paid for there's going to be event tickets, 2 x lunches, snacks etc, 1 x dinner and general spends for 3 of us.July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1650 -
Latest balance card has arrived so that account now set up, with minimum payments til October then splitting £700 pm between that £3k and B/card £6.3k, fixed amount so it's just like bill that ticks down.
I've been mooching summer 26 holiday ideas with the teenmonsters as Ecamp have some early booking offer and neither are back to school til 8th Sept so could take advantage of lower prices and pay balance off slowly. There's a mixed response so might just work on itinerary with #2!July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1651 -
Tomorrow is payday and last Very payment covering 'new' phones for me and Teenmomster#2 will be paid. He took his phone for an inadvertent swim in the sea earlier so that's nice. He's frustrated about that as am I and I need to discuss with his father how we replace this.July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1650

Have you tried drying it out in some rice? Apparently it works well at drying phones out that have fallen down the toilet! Maybe it will work for seawater too.

tried that to no avail, it was a good 15 mins in the sea before he realised! Fortunately the sim and the sd card are ok so "just" need to sort out the phone when we get back from holsjoedenise said:Have you tried drying it out in some rice? Eurgh, we're in the 'ber months now, gonna get cold and all that.
1st Sept payments all gone out and a smidge off the totals from August so summer hols damage fairly minimal it would seem. September payday should get me under that elusive £10k I've been chasing for so many months, the car did a long drive without conking out this weekend so maybe all those ££££ repairs not in vain! And exh has replaced the sea-killed phone without contribution from me so that's a result.July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1650 -
Damn me - the barstewards at naffwest charged me interest on that now closed credit card afterall so my only hope of a NSD in months blown by £4.13. Hopefully that's the end of that and given the average balance on that account the year I had it was £5k can't moan too much.
only 21 days til payday and maybe breaking the £10k barrier for good - though the car helpfully reminder me its 29 days til the next service is due! The MOT is due 16 Oct so I'll book the two together, eke the potential cost out for as long as possible.July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1650
