Pootling along not quite breaking that £10k barrier for another month as had to sort a bill for family that's gone on my credit card. Car is in for service & MOT next week so hoping that doesn't mess things up anymore, it's given me enough grief this year.
Lots of extra stress these last few weeks aside from money with illnesses, threat of school suspension for teenmonster#1 and with DP (his ex and his teenmonster#1 both creating havoc) but hopefully we can get through them.
We keep on plodding, don't we, what's the alternative, eh?!July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1651 -

@beanielou funnily enough last year sometime, one of his teachers mentioned sports coaching in school as a work experience option for him! Indeed, the irony!July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1652

Payday tomorrow, proper imagination required for half term gannets constant snacking and feeding today. Tomorrow is also caravan holiday weekend with DP and all 4 teenmonsters 😬July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1650 -
My tribe - only you will feel the pain when it's payday and a company's app is down and you can't cross a debt payment off the list for the month! And its the last payment on one debt too so I can't take the columns out my spreadsheet either.Grrrr.
In good news though, car insurance renewal £6 cheaper than last year, had a quick shop around and even with qco etc nothing is touching it so that's one less bit of admin.July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1651 -
The annoying payment app worked later so one debt / obligation paid off and columns hidden in my horrible spreadsheet

Confident that Nov payday will see me break the £10k barrier and I might even nuke the H'fax debt (there is one subscription running on it that I can't get my current a/c to accept so it'll have a rotating fiver on it).
Successful weekend away with dp and all 4 teenmomsters so he and I are well chuffed with that and means we can plan a "proper" at least week long holiday next summer, they'll just have to get over a 3 bed accom between us as no way can we stretch to a 5 bed!July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1651 -
Events this last week suggest I am going to be supporting family overseas to the tune of about 500 quid this month, I will get it back next month but that means the H'fax card won't be gone. They are aware I am in debt and know it needs to paid so not worried about not getting it, just the most cost effective mechanism for getting it back needs to fathomed out.
Frustrated that car insurance renewal is due the day before pay day this month so need to make sure I don't empty bank account by then as usual! I seem to have accidentally been wfh an extra day a week recently so commuting costs are a bit lower at the moment until that gets clocked!July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1650 -
Instead of being bogged down in current debt, here's some positive financial stuff: had a bit of a pension review after shuffling investment funds round a while ago. On checking them this week, seems that's really paid off and, with probs 12-15 years to go before I retire, think my pot might give me the same again as the state pension, I should have no mortgage or debt by then and the teenmonsters should be earning so while it's not in the "comfortable" pension lifestyle league I've seen banded about in the media recently, I don't think it'd be that bad.July 2024 £12,150 Nov 2025 B/Card £6,105, V/card £2,881, H'fax £491, IFC £398, Sports Trip £290 Total £10,1651
