  • i managed to get £434 from LGW to Las Vegas for the New Year leaving Jan 5. It would be expensive if it wasn't for the fact that it's a multistop on the way to Seattle, so I get 2 days in Vegas, Seattle for a week, and Los Angeles for 4 days before returning to the UK.

Still can't decide between a Bellagio vs Caesars heh. Caesars may sound like better value for money, plus we can still wander into the Bellagio right? :) Are they both on the strip and well located? If I only have 2 days in Vegas, would it make a difference?

I would get onto bmi ASAP.

However I don't think you were actually flying with bmi as they didn't fly to SF. It may be a code share with another airline. I would check your reservation both hard copy and online to see which airlines it was with.

I've just had a look at their website and they have a flight via London. It's a bmi flight to London and United to SF. However there are some very strange routings for 29 April from MAN>SF including one which goes via ABERDEEN(!) and London!

I am going via a code share, booked through opodo. I will ring them next week and double check its still all ok. I presume its Opodo i call not BMI?

I go on the 29th April via Manchester - Chicago - San Fran! :)

When you go to the airport, when do you ask about upgrades?

Is it at the desk for checkin? Or do you go straight to the customer service desk for your airline?

We tried on our honeymoon last year with Continental, and asked at first class checkin, the woman just said, if you paid over £1000 for your ticket EACH then she could do seomthing, if not, no chance, and also she only had one free seat anyway avalable for upgrade!

    LOL!

Yes I would think you would call Opodo.

I use Opodo and NetFlights to check prices, but no way I would book through them. They have both give me an option which included FlyBe to get me to London. Now that would have been a disaster as a) FlyBe only allows 20kgs baggage, so I would have been charged for anything over this even though the other flights had an allowance of 2 bags per person up to 23kgs each, and b) I wouldn't have been able to check my luggage through to destination. So be careful!

Ive checked the BMI site and did a check, and our flight from Manc - Chicago - San Fran isn't listed at all! Bit worrying.

Will give a call to opodo next week and do a check, can't believe they could change the flights and times without actually telling us! ridocoulous!

Back to Vegas and on topic....i really don't know where to stay! Maybe Luxor! :D

They are across the street from each other - you can get from one to the other without even going out on the street as there's a pedestrian bridge between them. :)

I seriously think that if you do not have a lakeview room Bellagio may be disappointing as their rooms aren't that spectactular on their own (nicer than many places, yes, but for the money I do think Caesars is the better option unless you have a lakeview room).
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Quick question about Vegas (and the US I guess), can you get cheap PAYG sim cards easily like you can in the UK
