Have you done Valley of fire? We thought that was great.

Also Spring Mountain Ranch just south of Red Rocks recreation area was very good. It once belonged to Howard Hughes, although he never lived there.

VOF is on the list, thanks for reminding me of SMR, will look it up.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Thanks for replying anyway. Sounds like a lovely idea.

There are going to be about 12 of us so I was thinking probably not really worth booking an actual reception at the chapel, but wondered if it was possible to book somewhere nice for an intimate meal for us all where we won't be rushed out in order to make room for more customers as soon as we have eaten followed by maybe a show of some sort?

But still open to ideas so wondered what others had done too :)

i've seen wedding meals / receptions at some off the nicer buffets. Planet Hollywood , Bellagio or Wynn would be good choices. the good thing with buffets is you can stay (and eat) as long as you like. and there will be no moaning about the food either.

of course you would need to make arrangments with them.

i'm sure it would be possible to do the same with most restaurants

It may make sense to decide what show - that way you can coordinate the meal to tie in with the show in terms of general location...with a larger group it might be helpful to eat relatively near to the show...unless you'll be planning on going back to your hotel between the meal and the show.

Just a thought...it will be possible to book at most restaurants and I would expect that for a larger party they would be less likely to rush you out of the place...if you have a show booked, you could mention when making the reservation that you're planning on sticking around until XX time when you'll be making your way to the show...that way at least you've forewarned them that you don't expect to be rushed out and if there is an issue with your request in terms of their expectations for turning tables they can let you know up front.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
