What do you mean by "a legit network"? Other than the fact that hijacking other people's wifi is technically theft, is there actually a danger with connecting to unknown networks, assuming one has a decent firewall active?
Don't just assume that everyone has a decent firewall. I also know someone who tried to connect to a 'Free Public Wifi' broadcast and it was not quite that. Have a read of these links:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=765953What I think is being suggested is that hackers are setting up wireless points and with open access and using this to steal data (often keystrokes) from people using them
Correct, some people are using other people's lack of knowledge about Wireless security to exploit them. Don't want to put people off using Wifi, just make people aware of the risks so they don't get scammed. This bit of advice could save someone quite a bit of money.0 -
$60 ticket offer for Ka, Mystere & Zumanity - dates to Feb 2009.

I'm gutted as the $60 seats don't seen to be available first week in Jan (when I'm in LV)0 -

For which show? Those that have dates (are not dark) seem to have $60 seats for the ones I've checked (there's a 10% tax as well so they come up as $66) - the rate doesn't show as discounted until you get to the 2nd screen (so choose your date and time, then at the screen with the price options don't choose the most expensive one, go one down)...and the price is not valid for top tier seats...have a play around and see.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I wouldn't personally (though I don't know much about these sorts of things)...personally I don't enter banking details in anything other than a hardwired connection that I trust - which does not include hotels as about 11 years ago my credit card got out that way and I had to contest a charge to pornagraffiti.com or something similar...so I'm just paranoid.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I would not log into online banking. Also, you should ask the hotel to confirm the name of their wifi network. People also forget that in many hotels an Ethernet socket is provided for free so no need for wifi.0
