we didn't like Harrah's compared to Bally's (rooms were tiny and too warm for us) but we like the casino and some of the restaurants at Harrah's...if the price is the same I would personally go for Bally's but others may go for Harrah's as the casino has a lot more of a buzzy atmosphere.

Hello everyone. We have just got back from our month in Vegas. It will probably take a while to put a TR together, but I thought I'd say hello. I have the remains of a POV and ACG if anyone is interested. The POV still has the 50% off at Palms in it, not sure what else. First two PM's get one each. Note that most coupons are only valid until 30th December.

I am with Ferth I do not like Harrahs nor do i like Flamingo I stayed at Ballys many years ago when it was one of the best hotels I had no money but my little sis was a travel agent at the time and blonde, pretty and english which got us a free room and it was great. I have a soft spot for Ballys and $45 a night is good value though the rooms are nicer at Monte Carlo and I think you can get a room there for $44 at the minute.

There are so many bargains out there it;s knowing when to stop $30 for IP $35 for Excalibur, $45 for Ballys, $50 for Mandalay Bay for me is probably the best deal around at the minute. http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008/12/06/amazing-deals-at-las-vegas-hotels/

The one thing that is for sure is that even with the £-$ as it is you will get a quality rooms for less than half what you would paly for it in Europe :j

Just read your post about Ballys and it just shows how Las Vegas has changed when we stayed at Ballys the pool was rated as one of the best on the Strip ;) we are of a similar age and agre about having an Oasis casino ara ours used to be the Birds nest bar and casino in Aladdin before the property was runined by Planet Hollywood we now have a little coren in TI we go and most of Mirage (our favourite resort). I can not tell you the last time I went to a club and its not really our thing but my wife wants to know what a few of them are like so I have spoken to a friend out there who works in the club business and he is putting us on the guest list of a few 40 Deuce, LAX, Ghost, PURE and TRYST and we will spend a night just looking to see what the fuss is about, I woudl not pay $1 to go in to any of these.

I agree with you that $50 a night at MB is fantastic and is the one I would go for..BUT it is only available until 24 dec, whereas most of the harrahs properties deals are available thru to spring and onwards.

prob best to book a deal at one of those and then hope MB extend their offer

Just a quick question. Regarding our trip in January. We all know it gets quite cold at night, so wearing a jacket or even a coat might be on the cards. But I have never noticed a coat check in any of the casinos. Never really thought of it before maybe never noticed. Has anyone ever seen somewhere in a casino that you can leave your coat?
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I haven't done it myself, but have seen people checking coats at the bell desk before.
