Did you get to use your voucher at Envy, if so how was it?

I also have one for the melting pot, Pamaps Churrascaria and Ocean One bar and grill if you tried any of those, or any one esle for that matter.

The steaks were delicious. My MIL remarked that it was the best steak she had ever had in her entire life. My husband and I think it was pretty much the same level of quality as Sonoma Cellar and Austin's Steakhouse (both of which we liked better than Circus Circus' steakhouse). So very, very good. The truffle fries weren't as to die for as I was expecting based on all of the reviews I read, but they were tasty. My MIL and FIL ordered a jacket potato to split between them and we're confident all 4 of us could have shared it (me with my fries, husband with his garlic mash - restaurant manager remarked 'there are not nearly enough potatoes on this table' :))

I did order my steak medium-well which is how I normally order it and I would say it was a bit overcooked - everyone else ordered theirs medium and I would do so too if I went back...I had a few bites of my husband's before he asked if I had the right one (I didn't) and my medium-well wasn't nearly as tasty.

One word of warning - they bring you these variety sea salts to enhance the flavour of the steaks - I don't think they were necessary and regretted adding just a very little pinch to my steak as it was a bit too salty.

It is really right across the street from the monorail station (we had read that it was but 'right across the street' in Vegas terms is a worrying phrase)...it was maybe 2 minutes walk from the monorail which was very convenient for us staying at Bally's.

With the voucher total after tax but before tip for 4 of us was $150 which included 1 beer, 1 wine and 2 soft drinks as well as 4 sides (we also had creamed spinach as we felt there would not be enough greens otherwise)...we did not order starters...three of us had the ribeye, MIL had the petite filet I think.

That is my pet peeve too. I don't think I have been to any airport where people take notice of the lines. The thing is, they make it difficult for themselves too.

Totally agree. And I'm always the somewhat cranky one remarking loudly to my husband 'IF EVERYONE STOOD BACK BEHIND THIS LINE *point at line* THEN THIS WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE FOR EVERYONE...'

No one ever takes any notice. I feel I am on a personal mission to educate the masses...I expect to fail miserably, but still. :)

Ahhh I see, well I don't think we would mind if we fly to GC via plane and then do a helicopter trip when we are actually there. That sounds quite good.

I really wana book before I go, but the rest of them don't..... I don't mind if we end up paying a little bit extra by booking when we get there but I am worried that we either won't find availability or end up paying loads more...

Can anyone either tell me I am worrying too much or give me info that I can use to convince them to book now???

We used this company http://www.scenic.com/, a quick look on their website says it does helicopter trips to South Rim but you may want to double check with them before booking as I thought you couldn't land in the Canyon at the South Rim.

Their deluxe tour does have an option of a helicopter trip over the canyon.

    Hope that helps somehow.

I think every South Rim chopper trip that lands does so at Tusayan just south of GC Village followed by a coach tour of the South Rim. As far as I know, there's nowhere to land inside the canyon at the South Rim.

We did our tour with http://www.grandcanyonhelicoptersaz.com/ which offers a virtual full circuit of the GC flying out from Tusayan. I don't think anyone does this from Vegas due to the flying time involved. Highly recommended though, great helicopters.

Have eaten at Ocean One. I can't say when exactly, but I think it was fine. We probably did lunch there whilst staying at PH last May. Sorry I can't be more specific, but it wasn't excellent or poor or I'd have remembered.

I have one for Pampas too. When do you go? I may be able to review it before you go if it's after next Tuesday.:j:j:j

Comps....... Both times this year I've been offered comps I've asked the individual hotel's promotions dept if they can give me any kind of "offer" for my dates-both hotels offered me comped nights (the latter one with food too) If you have a player card it costs nothing to ask . I've also had email offers from Coast casinos offering comp nights linked to my Coast player card.

which were the individual hotels? are they 'smaller' ones?

i've only really used MGM / Players Card groups and was wondering if there was any worth in checking with them or whether the online promotions was the only way to do it? :)

Yes definitely lower profile hotels. Gold Coast and Riviera (who upgraded me to a suite on a priceline booking earlier this year). The Riv is for a Friday/Saturday stay-doubt I'll get a suite again !
The way bookings are going in Vegas at the moment I can't see it'd hurt to try emailing the promotions depts in the higher profile ones if she you have a reasonable playercard history with them though. Nothing ventured-nothing gained.
