I don't rate AA or KK as it's literally a pain in the neck leaning over to talk to your companion. I particuarly liked 6A/K as due to the exit row you're like a 'semi detached' suite. Nice feeling of room around you.
That said any of the upstairs suites are good in my opinion (avoid 1A/1K asright by the toilet)
Middle seats? 22 and 23 are available....23 looks like it backs onto the bar so maybe 22 then.
Also, interestingly enough, it looks like weve got an Airbus, not a jumbo, on the way back. Very rare apparently for LAX/SFO. We're in cattle coming back, and it has seats in 2s all the way down the sides, and 4s down the middle, down to 3s at the rear. Have booked the seats one row behind where the 3s start.....should be maximum amount of space widthways there.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
If you get to LAX early enough you can bag exit row seats (worth paying the extra for IMHO).
How are you getting from SFO-LAS and LAS-LAX?0 -
AugustThanks for the advice all. Need to see whats available......the centre two certainly was when I last looked.
Im thinking of booking seven nights at the Venetian doing the $169 weekdays/$209 weekends deal, with the $50 per night food credit.
Pros..........its really cheap for a top hotel......was originally planning on MGM/TI/NYNY/Luxor standard, but with the food credit and the amazing prices, particularly the weekend, it seems daft not to do this.
Cons.......non-refundable. So, is it worth the punt on this, or hope that something better comes along?
Im also a chicken with Priceline.....knowing me Ill end up with The Trump!!
Also, Im planning two nights at Caesars for the $95 a night "email exclusive" deal.
Thoughts?
I very much doubt you will get better than that Venetian deal. For that hotel thats a bargain. Its one of the best hotels on the strip and some say it is the best.0 -
Good question. Priced up flights earlier, so I think we'll drive. I know its a long drive, but we're there for a couple of days longer than planned due to the non-availability of reward flights on the days we wanted.
We get into SFO Sat afternoon, so I figured we would do a bit of touristy stuff there for a day or so, then drive to LAS, maybe stopping overnight at Barstow (have Priority Club points to redeem!!!) as its a long drive.
We have the late flight back from LAS, so I figured if we check out in the morning from the hotel in Vegas, we can drive to LAS same day. If the drive goes well, maybe drive by Rodeo Drive or something......anyone got any ideas for things to do in LA and SFO? Not Disney or Universal.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Thats a LONG drive . If I were you , I would drive from LA to Yosemite National park . Leave very early and spend Afternoon there . Drive up to lee vining in the evening and sleep there . next day drive the long trip down to vegas stopping at june lakes ( not mammoth , too touristy ) and death valley0 -
Might be worth pricing up Virgin America - really nice product and cheap ($50) upgrade on the day to First for SFO-LAS.0

AugustI drove from Sacramento a couple weeks back to Las Vegas. The best thing to do is leave SFO head to Reno and then chill out for a few hours at the pool at the Grand Sierra (open to non guests) Then have dinner and at about 6pm set off for Beatty. The roads are massive and open put it in cruise at 100mph and then just sit back and do minimal effort until you reach Beatty. Stay at Exchange motel and then first thing set off for Vegas through Death Valley calling off at Furnace creek and having an hour by their pool.
Arrive in Vegas in the minimum possible time and revitalised.
As for LA i always arrive there the day i go home. Its a sh*thole mate. If im forced to be there i head for Santa Monica beach.0 -
Went on Expedia.com to compare US prices....one of the cheapest flights from SFO to LAS took twelve hours.........via New York!!! It must have been less than the price of a ticket to New York.illegitimi non carborundum0

Try southwest.com
They won't show up on Expedia.
Though Christmas is one of the most expensive times to fly in the US - so depending on when you would be flying you may struggle to find a decent fare (as it seems you are if you're thinking about driving!)Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Maykayak.com or southwest.com mate....
best way to check it out...0
