:j :j :j Have just booked for Xmas. Had a stack of Virgin miles from when I used to travel to Boston, and another stack from previous holidays and e-rewards surveys, and have just booked for me and Mrs Frog for 10 days over Xmas. 137,500 miles plus the tax and fuel surcharge.
Flying out Upper Class to SFO, and returning Economy from LA. That Venetian deal looks more and more appealing the more I look at it.
Quick question........in the Upper Class suite, which Ive never done before, for two people travelling together, in a row of four, should you book the two seats in the middle (D and G) or two seats either side of the aisle (G and K)? Or should I do the A and K upstairs or are they too far apart? Im not sure whether the barrier thing on the seat would stop me seeing or speaking to the missus in the D and G.
Only flew the UC seats when they had the ones where you eventually slid to the bottom of the seat as the night wore on!!! From memory, they were four across in the old layout in the bubble.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Personally I like 6 A&K upstairs - exit rows so only allocated at checkin.0 -
Cheers Andy.....V-Flyer seem to suggest an AA or KK upstairs one row behind the other....any thoughts.....would that be better than an AK up there?illegitimi non carborundum0

I don't rate AA or KK as it's literally a pain in the neck leaning over to talk to your companion. I particuarly liked 6A/K as due to the exit row you're like a 'semi detached' suite. Nice feeling of room around you.
That said any of the upstairs suites are good in my opinion (avoid 1A/1K asright by the toilet)0 -

Problem with upstairs is you are too far from the bar!!!
PS don't forget to book your treatment at the clubhouse well in advance, you more than likely won't get one on the day. You can do this up to 6 weeks before you goThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Thanks for the advice all. Need to see whats available......the centre two certainly was when I last looked.
Im thinking of booking seven nights at the Venetian doing the $169 weekdays/$209 weekends deal, with the $50 per night food credit.
Pros..........its really cheap for a top hotel......was originally planning on MGM/TI/NYNY/Luxor standard, but with the food credit and the amazing prices, particularly the weekend, it seems daft not to do this.
Cons.......non-refundable. So, is it worth the punt on this, or hope that something better comes along?
Im also a chicken with Priceline.....knowing me Ill end up with The Trump!!
Also, Im planning two nights at Caesars for the $95 a night "email exclusive" deal.
Thoughts?illegitimi non carborundum0
