AprilWhat's this one called , I can't remember?
Whatever it is I wouldn't go on it
been on this:eek: , it is the X Scream on the top of the stratosphere. if you don't like heights then give everything up there a wide berth.
if your really want to test your nerves then give this one a go. you feel like it is going to slip right off the end of the ramp , right up until the last second. made several children cry and a few adults go completly white while i was up there ............. good stuff :cool:Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
STSAVER,
My sincere apologies, no offence meant I can assure you. Out of the three rides I would say that the Big Shot is the easier of the three but what do I know, I was too chicked to do any of them!!

none was taken! ;-)
The Big Shot is the only one of the three that I have any intention of even attempting to give a shot to, and I'm still not sure I will do it as not a big fan of heights in the first place.0 -

So the Gatwick fleet will have to wait a little longer for the new seats etc.
It is sadly true that the retro fits of the Gatwick 747's have been postponed ( as they were due by the end of year ) there are still things in the rumour mill for a better entertainment system to be introduced.
For those who are frequent flyers from LHR, I have herd that a similar system to " V-Port " is being looked into.
We have also been told of plans to increase leg room and seat pitch on selected rows in Economy. No dates yet, but have been told that these seats would be sold like the exit row seats at Check-inI am a Travel AgentMy company’s ABTA number is V2043. Hope that is true and that by June next year they have and I can then travel without any fears of inferior service/quality.
Ive got flights on virgin to Shanghai, Tokyo and Miami in the next 6 months (all upper class) so it will be a good yardstick to measure the service on these compared to that offered for their Vegas route.
The upper class "suite" and service including all the extras ( onboard bar and freedom menu dining) is a universal product on every aircraft & route.
The only difference is the capacity...
On a flight such as Vegas, there are only 14 seats, and on all routes from LHR it is the new configured 747's and Airbus A340 where there is about 54 seats.
LHR is Virgins flagship hub and therefore you will have the mega clubhouse, whereas LGW (although still impresive) does not compare
You will have a great flight, I am sure of it

my better half is a woman thank you very much!!!
Its the Big Shot that she wants to go on and it means that I will have to do it as well (which i'm not looking forward to, but will force myself I reckon).
My better half is also a woman and she did the Big Shot WITHOUT me. No way would you get me on any of the rides on the top of the Strat, I dont even go near the window on the viewing floor.
I can do coasters in theme parks (but sometimes have to close my eyes)0 -

I'm not the greatest with heights, but as long as I feel secure then its not a problem so going near the window on the viewing floor won't be a problem.
But going up onto the Big Shot will be another kettle of fish altogether, but not sure I could live with the shame of the wife going on it and leaving me behind. :-o0 -

Have you been up there before? The windows are angled so you can look straight down. I didnt feel any shame, strange thing is she wont go on coasters0 -

the clubhouse is superb at LHR. I flew UC to Nairobi last Sept (on the only plane in Virgins fleet that hadnt had the full UC upgrade apparently) and had a very relaxed couple of hours in there prior to flying.
Hopefully by the end of this year i'll have 100,000 FC miles and at least silver membership, from which I hope to use towards me and the future mrs daz flying UC to Vegas (albeit via LA or whatever flight I can use my miles on)0
